Unless Bentley or whoever the new manager may be is allowed to somehow bring in at least half a new team then I honestly think we are doomed. We're only still in this game because Crawley are nearly just as bad. Christ knows what whoever christened Dorsett 'Donkey' must think of Cameron John..... |

Everyone assumes that any new appointment will be bringing in some new players but is there actually any money in the pot for this? Weren't we maxed out in the summer and now have the management duo to pay off as well? I guess there could be some shape shifting with returning loanees etc, but I don't see a raft of new faces. |

The defence is poor. We struggled last season with O'Connell, Dorsett, Downing and O'Keefe and they're twice the players this shower are. |

I guess this puts to bed any theories that the players just weren't playing for Stockdale. |

Is anyone still of the opinion that with a new manager and change of formation we have the quality to start climbing the table? And we haven't played anyone good yet! I really fear for us. |

Slightly better, but that's not saying much. We are a very, very poor team. All three centre halves have got a cock up in them, Nelson cost us but the other two have got away with it so far. EEL is a shadow of the player from his loan spell. O'Donnell has done OK with saves you would expect him to make. Midfield is slow and uninspiring and only just realised Hendo is playing. The new man had better be a miracle worker. |

I would agree with this. A lot of people seem convinced that with a managerial change and a tweak in formation we have the quality to start climbing the table. I just don't see it. It's not that I'm opposed to getting shot of Stockdale, he's responsible for this mess. But anyone taking over has got a hell of a job on his/her (got to get with the times) hands. |

Not getting on his back in the slightest, I'm more than prepared to be patient and know it will take time. It just shows that though some might get excited just because the manager is 'refreshingly honest' or 'no nonsense' it's what happens on the pitch that counts. |

I don't quite see all the hype about Odoh tonight, he was exceptional for the first 30 mins but thereafter faded completely out of the game for me, save for one shot that was saved against the post. Not entirely his fault as the whole team seemed to tire badly in the second half and struggled to retain possession, it goes without saying that conceding so soon after the equaliser really knocked the stuffing out of us. Also we really missed Beesley's non stop harrying and closing down, Andrews did his best but looks some way short of match fitness. I think we'll be OK, if Forest Green are expected to be promotion chasers this season then there's really nothing to be scared of. It's imperative to get that first win sooner rather than later though as with such an inexperienced team heads could start to drop if results continue to go against us. I would echo others in that a couple of wise old heads in the team would be extremely beneficial but whether the right players are available and there's the necessary budget for them, who knows? |

Refreshingly honest or not, I'll reserve judgement for the time being. For me actions (and results) speak much louder than words. |

As to all the self righteous "people who haven't been jabbed and get Covid shouldn't be treated" brigade, that's fine as long as as you take the same line with smokers, excessive drinkers, people who've shovelled crap food down their throats and generally abused their health over the years despite repeated warnings it's not in their best interest. |

That's from the man himself? Does he always refer to himself in the 3rd person? |

From what source did this come from? |

Just the usual empty platitudes and rhetoric that players always come out with whenever leaving or joining a club. Why does anybody take it seriously, they just say what they think will please. |

It doesn't hold with all these ifs and buts though. Maybe Wimbledon, Wigan and others can point to games where they've dropped points where they shouldn't as well and say they should be safe by now? The table doesn't lie. |

If you take the recent results in isolation, a draw against a decent Crewe team, a draw at Charlton, a narrow defeat at Donny, a draw at Gillingham and a heartbreak defeat last night against a team who beat us comfortably at their place....But for some appalling game management (which I agree must be priority to work on) we easily could've taken at least six more points from these games. Can you say with any confidence that we'd have had this run of results a couple of months ago? Maybe he has a point about performances improving? The next half a dozen games or so will give a much better idea of where we're at. |
