I know it was only the first game of the season, but apart from the obv win, the biggest buzz for me yesterday was the team spirit !! The way the players worked for each other and genuinely congratulating each other as another player scored.
Id lost faith early with Coleman, and lost connection with team as a fan and not to go back on it but really do feel like Hilly has brought not just the squad back to life but team rochdale back.
We are a small club, and its easy to support man u etc but whole heatedly feel proud to be a dale fan again today and part of team rochdale.
1 game in i know but win lose or draw im confident in Hilly and the future.

Just on that note, I convinced my dad to sacrifice his beloved Saturday round of golf yesterday to drag him along to San Spotland. He loved it. His last game was when we played Southampton at home in our L1 days, and he said yesterday was even better, and I tend to agree. For a first game of the season, a whole new team etc, that was so impressive.
And for even more positive news, my dad insisted we sit in the main stand, much to my reluctance, I really enjoyed it, and the atmosphere in there was pretty good. To see the excitement on Chris Dunphy's chops at the end of the game was worth the entrance fee alone!!

Very pleased with performance and result and proud to be part of team Rochdale again. For me you could feel the excitement in the ground before kick off I thought support was brilliant I saw Dunphy outside after the game he looks 10 years younger than he did at Daggers last season | | | |

The club feels so much more of an inclusive, long term project with Hilly at the helm. We go about things the right way and try to nurture young players.
Even if results don't go the right way in the weeks to come, which I find unlikely, his philosophy and experimentation makes things far more interesting than under Coleman. |  | | |
