Haven't seen this lad play yet. Thoughts?

I know we love to over hype players but I must say starting games at 18 is pretty impressive and clearly rated by Marti.

Only joined in the summer didn't he.

Played well today, couple of loose passes but solidified the midfield. Thought he also helped Madsen's performance as well. All good things about this lad.

Extremely impressive in the first half, always looking to get the ball quickly forward on the ground, seems to make his mind up before he gets the ball. Varane looked good breaking up their possession but dithered on the ball by comparison and wasn’t able to find players free. Morgan faded out after an hour but I imagine Marti didn’t think he had a better option.

You don't get many 18 year olds being so comfortable in his role from the get go.

I had thought myself previously he was just on a years loan from Tottenham but was corrected. Thankfully he is a permanent signing.

Varane and Madsen both complimented Morgan as well.

Like last season with Jimmy Dunne showing much better form at right back than his favoured position. Perhaps we have stumbled on our best formation.

Field himself did better at centre back also.

Looked decent as a sub vs Coventry, less effective at Burnley. Good today for 75 minutes but seemed to run out of steam late on.

Tired towards the end but looks more than ready at this level. Looks really good going both ways Between him Varane and Madsen we dominated midfield for the first time.

From the little I've seen, what's impressed me so far is his comfort on the ball whichever way he's facing, and not afraid to receive / play forward. Most often picks the right ball and does the so called easy things well to keep it ticking along, which in itself is a difficult skill. Defensively I'd like to see him in more challenging situations but hasn't been found wanting when needed thus far.

Overall good awareness, and a small thing i liked from today was him standing over the ball preventing Sunderland from taking a quick FK. Maturity beyond his yrs and not even 19. 10 yrs in the Tottenham academy has developed him well.

Interesting that on the bench today we had Aoraha & EDB (soon 22 & 24), who must be thinking this lad +3yrs younger is ahead of me in my position. If you're good enough you're old enough as they say.

I’m not sure about the last statement. Sunderland were slicing us apart minutes 10-35 and from half time to the red card.

Yep, six feet I imagine, a bit skinny.

I think he's really impressive - he moves us 10 yards up the field, receives the ball and looks for the forward ball, rather than with his back to the opponents goal, always looking for the pass. He also makes Varane a better player.
Obviously there were a couple of loose balls - especially toward the end of the game, but he didn't let it get him down and remained positive.
He's a great prospect for us.

Always looks to play forward which is a huge help. Fades later in the game, but not surprising considering his age.

I think Field will struggle to get ahead of him after Xmas when Morgans fitness improves. The midfield of Varane, Morgan and Madsen ahead of them looked quite good today.

I think Morgan is pushing Madsen on as well, there's a runner and mover into space, Madsen needs to think about that. I also loved the situational analysis towards the end when he lost possession and then brought the fella down, to avoid a certain breakaway. Should've been a yellow but you have to have your game smarts about you and this kid has definitely got something. I'm very happy with Morgan, a real find. Varane was excellent today as well.

Yeah it didn't always come off, and got a bit loose towards the end, but I also really liked that he was always looking for a quick defense splitting pass, something we've really lacked. Madsen also has that in his locker, and we say glimpses of it yesterday. Fingers crossed we can build on this.

There was a bit in the first half where Sunderland were about to start attacking and it looked like it could be dangerous. He did a curved run, whilst muscling their player out the way, stopping any threat, won the ball and passed it to one of our players. Great reading of the game.

Be you can see he is a player. The ingredients are there. He’s inexperienced and needs some meat on his bones but the talent is obvious.

Meanwhile we continue to struggle to find exactly what our international striker actually offers.

I like him a lot. Given his age and relative inexperience, he could blossom into a really good player. I like his attempts to move the ball forward and hope we don't coach the risk out of him. He's going to mess up an occasional pass when he is trying to do the hard thing, and I am happy to live with that.

We have enough players pushing it from side to side, so let;s hope people don't get on his back if a searching pass doesn't quite make it.

Very promising first start. Plays forward, has really good anticipation, loads of times he read where the ball was going and intercepted and broke up play. Not afraid of getting forward to when we attack, we already know he can arrive late and score! Was finished on about 80 minutes as you'd expect from someone who is 18 and playing their first 90 at this level, I'd have got EDB on for those final 10 but that is just nit-picking I guess. So now comes the time to manage him properly. He is going to have moments that aren't as good as yesterday but he could have a big future if we get it right. From my understanding, MC was very successful in bringing younger players into his Hammarby side so he probably is the man to do this.
