I genuinely don’t see the club being contemptuous and from what I see , with one or 2 mishaps , the club are trying really hard to bring the fans and the team together . Case in point is season tickets in lower school end as just an example . That directive has come from non playing coaching staff not the board . And the club saw it as a good idea for fans and players a like .
However , this is strange and a bit of an own goal .
You could ask “what are they afraid of?” But through personal experience I already know. It’s this board and its admin. Maybe they have refused all sites and podcasts ? But that is madness. It’s now part of pre season and the job as a whole .
Marti probably doesn’t know and won’t care anyway of course as his mind is and should be getting us ready for Saturday week. But as mentioned, the stock has not been much higher with the fans for a long time so it’s a gaping open goal being missed if this doesn’t get sorted , not just for LFW but all outlets . |

Paal was targeted by teams last season regularly as players with the run on him beat him
In the air almost every time.
Paal is ok but nothing more. I think we can improve that position as Larkeche isn’t the answer either |

I totally agree.
I thought we were outmuscled all over the pitch really. Slow with and without the ball.
Again , I’m trying not to go overboard as it’s not the be all and end all but I hope I’m wrong,but some this lot have a fragile mentality and losing games become habit again very easily if old habits take hold.
Hopefully that is an over reaction by me and I totally trust MC of course.
But he’ll be concerned by body language and physicality and general play at the moment . |

Nothing new but the 2 in the middle of the park just can’t play forward. They’ve got on the turn once in the whole game and it creates a chance .
And as I type that colback turns plays the ball foward…straight out of play .

Looks a good deal to me for affordable tickets .
The 2 ends of the ground look very similar but having sat in the LSE a couple of times last season , the experience is very different . Hopefully with the season tickets being sold from the middle first then if selling out moving to fill the blocks nearest South Africa Road the fans there can build their own atmosphere. It does feel that the R’s fans in that part of the ground are cut off from
From the rest of the stadium . Not sure why but atmosphere doesn’t come round the stadium from other parts . I’m informed that this have been driven by the back room playing staff so away fans are not predominantly in the players faces at home and it maybe the odd 1 or 2% advantage for us.
Don’t necessarily agree with this but there you go .
There is an issues with the disabled section in that area next to the Ellerslie Road. The Sheffield Wednesday disabled fans were on mass with just as many able bodied carers who all had to come into the QPR fans on the day and actually the atmosphere got a little shitty as most of these were on a jollly. Noticeable that they were all wheeled in before the game yet when the players came over to celebrate the win all but 2 of the dozens of them gave them a standing ovation .
The club must of either dropped the official ground capacity so away clubs are only entitled to the upper tier only or that block of the LSE behind the disabled area will be saved for clubs like Leeds who threaten legal action if they don’t get the percentage they are entitled too.
But that creates a problem with only 1 bar and 1 set of toilets down there for 2 sets of fans .
If we can continue on this trajectory , big if, then this will be an important area of the ground to have support but if it all goes belly up then it willl be a bit of a no man’s land missing revenue from supports like Pompey and Leeds etc . [Post edited 27 Jul 14:37]

Tested negative for it 10 days ago but the likelihood is that I had it as the tests are old and no good with new strains etc . Lost all taste and sense of smell a week ago and only returning now .
Brutal cold with the worst aches and pains sore throat etc .

I get a lot of the cynicism and concur with some of it .
What I will say is the everyday staff at the club are totally blown away by the change in every tiny aspect of the club in the last 12 months.
It’s a very different club and environment now.
The overriding take from staff is that the club ‘means business’ whereas it is only clear now how far we were lagging behind the rest of the football world until very recently .
Could all go belly up of course but you can’t say they ain’t trying |

Apologies if this has been discussed already but Jimmy Dunne being skipper yesterday was interesting , especially with Cook and JCS on the pitch .
What do we think that’s about ?
Jimmy has been great under MC but the other 2 are more obvious choices I would have thought but I could be wrong .
Is there a possibility that JCS could be sold before the season gets going ? Is it likely that Cook might not play every game ?

Lots of positives to take from today .
I don’t think we can be too critical for the most part although I know a few are.
First proper game of pre season whilst Spurs beat Hearts 5-1 midweek .
I thought our youngsters matched theirs for the last half hour . Not just in quality , but attitude and fitness too.
Not about winning but about how we react and compete with top class players in a demanding match and I thought we did pretty well.
Won’t play anyone better than that in the upcoming season and that bodes very well.

Never did / do get the argument about the away kits ‘not having anything to do with QPR’.
Apart from the Denis the menace kits of the 80’s and early 90’s and the odd green and white hooped shirt when have they ever ???
One of the whole points of an away kit is a change of colour but with that famous QPR badge on . I don’t remember going to the FA cup final in 82 thinking “oh that red shirt has nothing to do with QPR”
IT WAS QPR!!
