Congrats, it's an amazing thing. Lots of good advice on here so I won't repeat any of it. Mine are now 17 and 19 and it's been a fantastic journey. And now I introduce my son to people I've met on this board :-) |

Love that part of the world. I've had holidays in the western-most part of the South of France (Gruissan Plage), I've driven from there all across the Pyrenees to San Sebastian, I've done Bordeaux, Lacanau, Arcachon etc plus various places inland in SW France. In recent years have had a string of holidays on that Atlantic coast with bikes. I get a bit bored just lying on a beach and being able to use some time up cycling to a remote and quiet beach is great. Plus you can cycle back via an oyster shack or bar or both. Went there yet again last year and loved it. So of course the mrs has booked a holiday in Majorca this year. |

Yeah but he's getting on a bit now - I hear he's got a Gamay foot. |

I don't have the financial stress of owning/running the club so on a purely selfish basis I'd happily stay there forever. The safe standing is fantastic and I've got STs beside my mates. I love meeting people before in one of the locals or on the concourse outside and/or a pint or two after. Loads of ways to get there inc the bus, the tube, the Overland and Lime bikes. I like old grounds in towns and, as others have said, the likes of Cov, Derby, West Brom etc do nothing for me. |

In two year's time, nothing much will have changed (because there's no money to change anything) and all the angry protest voters will be even angrier and will now be blaming Labour. And everything will get more divisive and polarised. I can't wait. |

The Belgium friendly showed how this England squad can do the swashbuckling attack. Leaky as fk8c at the back of course. 2-2 but actually fun to watch. |

God yeah, I caught a few minutes of Spain Georgia and what a massive contrast. Yes, England move the ball so slowly and don't see to be able to move in numbers. Scotland were the same; well a lot worse actually. The gaps against Germany were horrific at times. I've watched seven Scotland & England games now and can't say I'm looking forward to the eighth. It's like a form of mental torture. Roll on the start of next season. [Post edited 1 Jul 13:40]

It's awful to watch. I missed Kane's goal as I took the opportunity to go and buy some frozen prawns. Such drab football. No width, no runners getting in behind. All the opposite team needs to do is line up 2 banks of 4 knowing that England can't pass through that. I went to the last two friendlies at Wembley. The Iceland game was like that. I guess the only positive is that the Belgium game before that was fast and open. Maybe when a team comes at England we'll see more of the attacking play we know they're capable of. |

F8kcs sake Scotland are a hard watch. 100 minutes without a single shot on goal. Reminded me of standing on the terraces at Elland Road watching Ainsworth's Rangers achieve the square root of f8ck all. |

Yes, written by the Corries in 1967. I grew up (in Scotland) presuming it was ancient until discovering that it was actually younger than me. Rugby fans always sang it at 5 nation games. In 1990 the Scotland team had it played as their run-out music and so all the fans belted it out in the stadium. And the Scotland team also spooked England out a bit by marching out not running out. They went on to win 13-7 and took the last ever 5 Nations title. I couldn't get tickets to the game so went to a west end pub instead (Mathers Bar). I ended up standing on a table leading the whole pub in several (deafening) renditions of it purely to take the piss out of my English mate who'd come to join us. As Scotland so seldom win anything you have enjoy the moment..... |
