I don't know if you can eat outside at the Worms Head Hotel but if you can I suspect that would be a clear winner locally.

And there's the little bit of nasty nationalism that is always there with these types, just usually well hidden until they're provoked. The irony being of course none of them are 100% pure Welsh either if you go back far enough.

For the record, one grandad from Northampton. The rest all Welsh.

There are civil servants already in place in the vast majority of prisons already in possession of all of this knowledge.

It would make absolutely no difference in any way, shape or form to Swansea City if Wales lost 10-0. Only five players (out of 27) of the current first team squad are Welsh. Ten are English. Eleven if you count Vigouroux.

What would benefit the Swans is if many of their players weren't dragged off multiple times mid season to play games that have no value to us for organisations that don't pay for the privilege.

Yes they are.

Couldn't care less what you think. Come crying the next time a Swans player is unavailable because he got injured earning FIFA/UEFA money,

Nations League games are friendlies.

I'm passionate about my club. The national teams come a distant second. I'd happily see Wales lose 10-0 every game if it benefited the Swans.

He's played twice? since then. Both times against teams who have suited him.

Should they ban International football? No, but they could halve the number of fixtures quite easily. Qualifiers and tournament games only. No friendlies, no "Nations League".

No player should get anywhere near 100 International appearances. FIFA and UEFA have profited from the clubs expensive recruitment and training of players for long enough.

I would be immensely pleased if no Swans player ever got called up for International duty again.

I guess once you're in the Championship the clock starts running. Like Keith said, a huge loss in 2025 will be an issue in 2027 if you're still a Championship club. They'll probably hope to be out of there before that happens.

My next door neighbour moved to Swansea from Brighton. Whole family upped and relocated. Took out a three year lease without even seeing the place in person. It's horrendously expensive to live there.

On the main subject, I tend to find service much of a muchness in most places. Service staff are generally decent, facing the same issues as anyone else who deals with the public has to.

The young waitress in Las Iguanas who served me and Mrs Winston (and fourteen other members of my family) on Tuesday deserves a mention though. She was excellent.

I done a Google.

Apparently there are no limits on what a team can spend on players in League One, but salary costs can't exceed 60% of turnover. Hence their total transfer spending of £20-£25m on players like Stansfield, who will all undoubtedly have huge promotion bonuses in their contracts.

It also appears to be the case that the only real punishment for exceeding that limit is a transfer embargo, which probably won't bother a club with a squad costing that much already.

Agree completely with most of that. Community service needs to be tougher and overseen by warranted officers rather than social workers.

Would have thought that an empty stadium was a benefit to Cooper. The sound of 14,000 people snoring might have put the team off.

We need to stop jailing non-violent offenders and reserve prison space for the violent and repeat "nuisance" offenders.

There's one case I dealt with recently. Many people here will be aware of the story surrounding it so I won't go into too much detail, but someone with no previous convictions, of good character, full employment history etc made a serious mistake of judgement and was sentenced to jail time as a result. Lost their job. Almost lost their family.

I do question the societal value of taking someone out of a job where they're paying tax and supporting a family, and putting them somewhere that costs the taxpayer tens of thousands a year if they are of no risk to the public and basically zero risk of re-offending. Give them ten thousand hours of community service instead. Something useful instead of locking them up for the sake of it.

People with restraining orders are being released from Prison to make room for people who said racist stuff on Twitter. That's on the current Government entirely. Punish the racist goons for sure. Imprisonment? Not necessary.

Good afternoon Pete. I concur that mistakes have been made as I said in an earlier post. Big ones. Mismanagement and a lack of investment are not the same thing however. For another example, Farhad Moshiri has spent upwards of £300m at Everton and got nowhere.

I may be wrong, but the FFP rules are somewhat different in League One as far as I can gather, hence Birmingham effectively bringing their Championship spending forward by what they no doubt hope will be just a season. If they get stuck for any length of time at this level then they will face the same issues as us in having to meet P&S rules. Ditto Wrexham.

As to the question "why are they still here", I believe that we're mostly a convenient tax write off/long term potential payout. They've (meaning Kaplan and Levein) made vastly more profit with their DC United investment than they've lost here. A $60m purchase was most recently valued at $800m. Should they succeed in getting us back into the PL at some point, they could probably recoup most of what they spent here too. In the meantime we're a low cost gamble to offset gains made elsewhere for the IRS.

You don't need to be a financial expert to work a lot of this out no matter what certain others might claim.

I certainly don't disagree that loads of it has been wasted. We didn't get much of a return from what we allowed Potter to spend, there have been a couple of poor managerial appointments and wages in general have been much too high for for the return we've got (£1m a season for Captain Marvel when nobody else was offering him anything remotely similar being the prime example).

None of which however deflects from the fact that they've done the very thing that even now far too many people still accuse them of not doing. Accuse them of poor management by all means. There's a hell of a case to be made for that. Accuse them of not investing in, supporting or "backing" the club? It's simply not true.

I have no idea when they last saw the team play, nor do I particularly care.

What is an undeniable statement of fact however that a significant eight figure sum has been put into the club to cover ongoing losses over the last four or five years. Probably too much if we're being honest, which is why a rebalancing of the clubs finances is overdue.

People (not specifically you, there are loads) have spent much of the time since 2016 complaining about a lack of "investment" in the club. We broke our transfer record several times after 2016 whilst still in the PL, and have spent £1m plus on plenty of players since getting relegated despite ever mounting deficits.

I find it difficult to understand how anyone can look at the clubs finances over the last several seasons and not come to the same conclusion.
