My other half is off on some hen do over the Easter weekend, so I've been looking for some bands to go and see around the UK. Nothing much coming up, but did see the UK Subs are in Derby, seen them so many times, that doesn't really appeal to me. Got me thinking who I've seen the most-
Damned-between 50 and 60 times. UK Subs-about the same. Siouxsie and The Banshees-about 30, SLF the same.
Then loads between 20 and 30 including GBH, Mad Dog, Oppressed, Cowboy Killers, Discharge, Conflict etc...what about you lot?

Lost count of the amount of times I've seen the Manics and they're not even a particular fave of mine, although they were great live back in the Richey James spikey hair and eyeliner days. Seen Toto a few times but not as many and a few others multiple times.
‘……. like a moth to Itchy’s flame ……’
Motörhead when I had the absolute pleasure of working with them.
As a punter GBH, UK Subs, Picture Frame Seduction, Drongos for Europe, Cockney Rejects, it’s easy these days to multiply your band list by doing one weekend like the one at Minehaead last weekend. Or Rebellion.
I saw Roxy Music twice, 1973 and 1976., Oh and Queen around 1973 and 1975. Never felt the urge to do a repeat for any others, not even for Stranglers, Clash or Jam. In fact I haven't seen a decent band since about 1980. I really must get out more.

Prof. Did you ever get to see Gedge in his Cinerama revamp?
I saw them in a little pub in Camden back in the late 90's. They were OK, not amazing.
Sean Hughes, the late Irish comedian was there, and was a really nice guy.
He did a Cinerama set as support for the Wedding Present at a Manchester Academy 25th anniversary gig about 4 years ago. Also an unannounced Badly Drawn Boy set. They were fine, but the records don’t translate that well to live. That said Health and Efficiency May be my favourite Gedge song

Love Drongos, they're so under-rated.

Rush 9X Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan solo/Zwan 8X Radiohead 3X Journey 3X Cheap Trick 2X Doobie Bros 2X Kiss 2X Weezer 2X Depeche Mode 2X Black Crowes 2X 10,000 Maniacs/Natalie Merchant solo 2X
I’ve seen Radiohead about 8 times, though none since 1995. Lived in Oxford when they were still playing pubs and called On a Friday. 10,000 maniacs are an interesting one- ‘Like the Weather’ and ‘Trouble me’ are lovely songs. Was long rumoured Merchant and Michael Stipe were a thing including their ‘April Showers’ Disney duet, but obviously she was not Stipe’s type
