Ramsey. Nice bloke but Clueless.

With these players as the raw material our performances are woeful.

I fear that Ramsey will lead us into another relegation

Being watching for 45yrs and have seen us beaten heavily many times. Last night was a shambles from the first min. What on earth happened in the dressing room before kick off? Time for CR to go who is worse than Arry.

Shocking from the off. Second to every ball. Players played as if they had just had a Sunday lunch. Full backs were woeful. How come this team could play so well at Hull and so poorly at Fulham?

Again we were below our best and we were suitably punished for it. Too many players were off their game and despite plenty of possession we struggled to create any chances and the Southampton defence had a reasonably easy afternoon. That's four games and just one penalty and one point to show for it and that is something we need to address and quickly. The wins over Man Utd and Newcastle seem a long time ago

Phil - you were allowed the possession because we had the goals. Asee learnt under Pochettino, possession doesn't guarantee results.

The ref did his best to ruin this oine, with his 90 mins of power, blowing for so many non and unnecessary fouls, it was quite unbelievable.

We were good in places and bad in others, but overall we fully deserved the win.

Again though, once we got in front, there was a tendency to drop off or sit back like lsst weekend. With Pelle not looking his usual busy self and Tadic not being direct enough, the chances of quick breaks and passing moves came to a halt with these 2 too often.

It was great to see Bertrand back and we had a better shape with him in the team. Cedric also did well, even when the Swansea winger came on at half time.

VVD is off the mark and will probably notch from a free kick or 2 this season.

Not sure Juanmi was the best sub for this game and personally i would have brought on Long or even put Long on for Pelle.

As much as I like it, I am glad we didn't see the Panther goal celbration from Gomis :-)

Still a good day at the office and hopefully that cangive us the momentum requiredto get a result next week at the bridge - at the time of writing it is Newcastle 2 - 1 Chelsea.

Like the game at Stadium MK, very stop start. Great to see a goal from a set piece, and pleased that VVD is off the mark, could have been two but for some good goalkeeping. Lost our shape a bit after Davis went off and J W-P moved further forward allowing Swansea more of the ball. Referee over fussy, which didn't help the game, blew up every time Ayew threw himself to the grass in the hope of Wanyama getting a card. Mane MOM again for me, he is a non-stop running machine and deserved his goal.

A STRANGE SORT OF GAME really. RK was clearly correct in describing this as an unsatisfactory performance despite the outcome. The fans around me were moaning about Mane and Tadic until they each scored, and how Wanyama remained on the pitch for 90 minutes I will never know, but the fact is that they did and he did and in the end its all about results. Some hopeful signs: Van Dyke was excellent and would have had my vote for man of the match even if he hadn't scored: Pelle was immense once again and Ryan Betrand is nearly back to his best. Even though Mane was a bit off the pace I love his attitude: He has a great relationship with the crowd, cheerleading each time he gets the chance and obviously loving playing for the Saints. Davis was solid in midfield, a much under-rated player in my opinion, and the goalkeeper had a confident game even if he gave us a few heart-stopping moments. Overall I am quietly confident for the season, but the long-term key is keeping the manager in place. I have to warn that I was with some Dutch guys in France last week and all they could talk about is when he comes home to manage their national side......

After 15 minutes it just looked like a question of how many we would score, and you were thinking Shrewsbury could easily be battling relegation this season of the evidence of what we had seen. In the end we were under pressure and hanging on a little, and Shrewsbury had proved to be a very pacy attacking side who look to have some good players and a decent team. It was a great game to watch and one any neutrals would have enjoyed, a good advert for League 1 football.
A special mention for Calvin Andrew who turned in an immense performance which was only missing a goal, which he would have richly deserved. At times in the first half he looked almost unplayable, long may it continue.

Yes yes yes. Sometimes supporting the saints is great.
Fully deserved. Van Dijk - immense, JWP - great, Cedric looked good. Mane was amazing. We were playing against the ref for most of the game (how Jose can say ref was biased against Chelsea is beyond me!).

Media of course will focus on Chelsea but we were better. End of

What a team we are turning out to be as new recruits settle in. Right now we look a class act and top four is not unrealistic.
