Bertrand Makes Comeback in U21 Win Against Reading Monday, 21st Sep 2015 21:43 Ryan Bertrand has made his return to playing in an actual match tonight in the televised game at Wycombe against Reading. Saints fans will be glad to hear that Ryan Bertrand has made a return to action when he played for the Saints U21 side against Reading, he showed that he isn't feeling the affects of the injury when after only five minutes he launched into a crunching tackle that saw him shown a yellow card. Bertrand played only the first 45 minutes with the club wanting to ease him back gradually and it will be interesting to see if the strategy sees him play any part against MK Dons or Swansea City although more realistically he will return against Chelsea. The first half saw a plethora of goals with Saints leading 3-2 at the break courtesy of Harrison Reed, Sam McQueen and Ryan Seager. The second half was more restrained but Jake Hesketh made it 4-2 to Saints before making it 5-2 with his second of the night with 20 minutes remaining, sadly that was to be the end of the scoring for the night, however the victory sent Saints to the top of the U21 Premier League table.
