In nearly 60 years of supporting the club I don't think I've ever felt happier for a player. |

I'm old enough to remember Don Masson. |

The official website refers to Saito variously as Koko, Koki and Kiko. Either he's a man of many names or that's a bit embarrassing. |

Dunno, but I was so confident we would do really, really well that for the first and only time I kept a scrapbook. Five of them in fact. Still got them somewhere. |

I wonder if Martà was on a hefty bonus if he kept us up? Certainly well deserved if so! |

And nearly fifty years ago we had McLintock and Webb. |

I've still got the celebration ash tray, even though I've never smoked. |

It wasn't just the phenomenal skill and the amazing goals, the best of which weren't captured by TV, it was Stan's swagger and attitude that we loved so much. When an opponent missed and thought he had gone close, Stan stretched his arms out to indicate how much he had missed by. When an opponent fouled him Stan picked himself up and pointed his forefingers at his temples to indicate what he thought of his mental state. One of my favourite memories is from the 75/76 season. Our opponents were the dour and boring Everton. We demolished them 5-0. Late in the game they won a throw in front of me in the Ellerslie Road Stand. The thuggish Mick Lyons came over to take it. Stan made him wait by playing keepy-uppy before spinning the ball up to land perfectly at Lyons' feet, meaning he had to bend down to pick it up. Lyons sarcastically applauded. Stan raised the fingers on his hand one by one to indicate the score. The crowd erupted. RIP Stan. |

'For several years we have been considering how we might best increase our off-site sporting facilities to complement our grounds at Wood Lane. The school has purchased the lease for the University of Westminster grounds in Chiswick. Nothing about moving out of or selling Wood Lane. |

Does anybody know if/when payment for the automatic cup tie scheme is taken and the ticket uploaded? I think I've opted in but nothing on my account or in any email I received from the club pre-season mentions it. Poor show. |

We battered Leeds at home but lost 1-0. Bernard Joy (I think) wrote that 'Leeds were blessed with the sort of luck that is reserved only for champions'. |

Respect and eternal gratitude, but no thanks - we've been down this route before. |
| Forum Reply | Jake Bidwell at 17:34 16 Apr 2023
Signing Bidwell symbolised everything that's been wrong with this club over the last few years. Many fans, and perhaps Les, thought we'd pulled a fast one by signing Brentford's captain for a million - another Martin Rowlands-type coup. I didn't, having seen Bidwell play for Brentford many times. Who did the Bees sign to replace Bidders? Rico Henry, currently more than holding his own in the Prem. |
