Agree with you re Jez - got the physical attributes but not the concentration.
I did quite like what I saw of Afuye - considering he'd only played Manchester League (I think) beforehand, he was out of his depth being thrown in at National League level at the start of the season, but did concentrate and put a shift in and seems to have done well enough on loan a couple of leagues down with Guiseley to (per Wikipedia) be now with Curzon Ashton in NLN.

Young goalie Brad Kelly signs for a further year.
Have only seen him in last year's pre-season game against Bradford for half a game, but he did look pretty competent. Hope his injury issues are over - with seven subs this year he may well get at least a seat on the bench. |

Nothing against Alty or the Shaymen, but I'd rather keep the derbies. Of Gateshead, Solihull, Barnet and Bromley, the last named are the least interesting, so they can get promoted... |

A couple of points that haven't been mentioned.
1. I think Tyrese Sinclair is still young enough that, if he's offered a new deal on the same or better terms than thus season, we would be entitled to a fee under the Bosman rules if he decides to move elsewhere.
2. Whilst the step up from the level he played at last season proved to be a bit much for Michael Afuye this season, he seems to be doing reasonably well at Guiseley on loan and may be worth looking at again. From what I saw early this season he couldn't be faulted for effort and application, even if he wasn't then ready for Conference National level. |

Not the fault of the club, or the player.
When he did play for us, he looked reasonably useful. Shame it didn't work, but since he's not had a happy time at Dale and is AFAIK based "dahn sahth", a loan down there is probably best for both parties.

I don't know the answer either, but can make a guess.
KH played alongside Wayne Evans and Neil Edwards, and managed Matt Gilks, Gary Jones, Lee McEvilly and Grant Holt - between those six, I think all games between KH leaving Dale as a player and being appointed as manager can probably be ruled out.
Soccer base only gives team details back to 1996/97 (the year KH joined Dale as a player). However, Steve Whitehall and Mark Stuart were both still at the club and played alongside Hilly that season. These two were both regulars for the previous five years or so, and there may not have been many (if any) any games missed by both of these.
So I would guess at 1991 or 1992! |

If Tav Campbell is getting a few goals for Wealdstone, then good for him. Whilst I don't think Wealdstone are particularly flush with money, if he scores a few for them one of the Southern NL clubs who do have backing - Ebbsfleet, Eastleigh, Dorking, Boring Wood - might offer us a few grand at Christmas (or even before, since there's no transfer deadline). |

Hopefully either Hendo or Rodney are fit to play alongside Mitchell. If not, Sinclair should play there, as the player most likely to score.
That's assuming we play 4-4-2.
If we play 4-3-3, then I'd play Keohane and Sinclair either side of Mitchell, with Oduroh and John at full back (I'd play John at LB either way as his height may be useful against a big team.) EEL and Nevett at CB with Ferguson on the bench with McDermott, Jez and either Afuye, Oscar Kelly or possibly both if we decide to do without a sub goalie (I'd personally have Brad Kelly there, in case of random accidents/red cards). |
