Exactly my thoughts, felt as though he was pushed up which didnt allow him to attempt to dictate the pace. Against mid-table teams I would like to see shelvey and canas, with michu sitting infront. I also feel there will be a fair bit of rotation between Pablo and Dyer, to me, routledge is still nailed on as a starting winger. I guess it does just show the strength we have in depth to see how we have so many different combinations that people believe to be the right one! |

So it is all well and good questioning our starting line-up against United in midfield. It felt as if they were setting up for an away game to one of the top 4. But how do you think our midfield will line up against the likes of Palace, the scum and hull? Still keep Leon and Canas? Or opt for John Jo to sit deep and allow JDG/ Michu/Pozeulo to sit behind Bony? Frankly, I wouldnt like to guess! Sorry if this sounds similar to the thread about Leon and Canas! With the recent success of Swansea and Cardiff, and of course Newport getting into the football league I just wanted to know your thoughts on the state of welsh football as a whole. Do you think the Welsh League can actually go anywhere? I know the F.A.W has had its critics, and I know that the likes of TNS are better of staying in the WPL then entering themselves in the English System. I was at Haverfordwest to watch a Swans XI and there were around 1,200 there to watch youngsters. Just makes me wonder if the Welsh Premier League can grow and how it can attract a bigger following. |

Really is anyone's guess what our league form will be going into the first 5 games - could go either way. On one hand we could beat United, hope spurs are shattered and nick something, and come away with a win at West Brom. OR... United hit the ground running .. Spurs actually turn up and West Brom play well. Still though.. better than thinking .. Damn we have a trip to Carlisle and then a trip to plymouth don't you think?;) |

Must admit .. was a quality free-kick. Seems to be full of potential. I like the low centre of gravity he seemed to have. |

I take your point, completely. But as you said, although they are a massive club, if for example he had left 2 years ago, do you think Chelsea would be in the same position? It would be interesting to see what would happen. My point though is that as a football club owner, the fact that he treats players and staff members like top trump cards would worry me. Does make an interesting point though... 'in 10 years at Chelsea they've won the league 3 times, the FA cup 4 times, the league cup twice, the Champion's league and the Europa league.' ... This is why I wanted to see if people would take an investor like him. Success... but totally unorganic, only my opinion though. :) |

Pembrokeshire logistics do not make sense! Nice place though! I literally dont understand why people Live in Fishguard. There is nothing there! At least in Pembroke you have an easy way out of the County! |

I think that may be the problem though as there arn't many investors who wouldn't want to put there stamp on things. Im being very predictable here but look at Abramovich running Chelsea or Fernandez at QPR. Great investments from idiots. Hit and Miss! |

Pembroke area, problem with Pembrokeshire is your isolated from everything! Easier to get Ireland than England (Not that I want to go there! ;) ) |

I think MLS is definately progressing. But without going into detail, it will take more than big name players to really kick it off. Watched a program the other night on this though and its interesting how it isnt the big spending that is making the difference. There is a massive influx of South American players moving to the MLS to kick-start their careers and there was a pole that showed that Soccer is the 2nd most popular sport to take up between the ages of 12-14 in the US. Think thats amazing when you have baseball, NFL, basketball and Ice Hockey to attend with. Clearly see the mentality is changing over there! :) |

It wouls have just been interesting to see if people are greedy though. As I said I am completely happy with the way the club is run. There would always be excitement if someone did come in though, but I bet in a couple of years, Laudrup would be gone and we'd be making 'marquee' signings that would not match the club. I think we are in a position to attract quality (as shown in Bony) without the promise of Champions league by bent foerign owners who dont give a f*ck about anything except their pockets. I am glad to see on my first post that people agree! How proud to see us where we are now and even though they got into the prem, to see how Cardiff is run. |

First proper post so go easy! These are in fact exciting times for the Swans. If you are someone that has trolled through our recent threads, you would have heard these words a lot. As a football fan, I hate this phrase. Do not judge me though, as these are exciting times. I definitely think that our success is due to our solid foundations and our capability not to think too far ahead. We have had a gradual rise but have not moved too fast. Everyone at the club or who has been in the last 6 or 7 years has had the philosophy of Swansea City engrained into them and if they do not see fit, they have moved on. Just look at QPR. Big Investor, Big intentions, now they are in the Championship. The point of this post is to see what the opinion is on how we sustain ourselves. Is it to make sure the club continues to run the way it is now or do we need a foreign investor? I may be naïve, as a 19 year old blinded by the success of the past 3 years, but I for one would not welcome the latter. Capital One Cup Winners. Top-half finish. Europe. Exciting times. Would not want it spoiled by a man with a tash who can’t even pronounce Abertawe. Don’t get me wrong, money can have a massive contribution to a club, but there are no guarentees. If the opportunity arose of a rich foreign investor wanting to buy the club, would you want it? |

Quite honestly, Im too busy being excited about Pozuelo and Wilfried. Do not need Gylfi, whereas Michu's contribution is something money cannot replace ;) |
