Dianne Abbott re-elected with 42,000 votes ... a 35,000 majority! Got three times more votes than the other 7 candidates COMBINED! ... the voters of Hackney know best! It will always be a labour seat but setting aside party politics aside I genuinely don't think it is good for the country when a politician as inept as Dianne Abbott can even become an MP let alone be voted back in with such an overwhelming majority. |

OP here. Thanks for all the feedback. Monk is going to be announced as our next Manager at 4.00 p.m. today. Hardly a vote of confidence on this forum from the comments but time will tell either way of course how it pans out at Boro. Anyway enjoy the Summer and best of luck for 2017/18. |

When Boro beat Swansea 3-0 at The Riverside the vast majority of Boro fans (and probably The Swans fans) left the stadium thinking that we were sure to finish above you at the end of the season. We were 5 points ahead with a better goal difference, had just convincingly beaten one of our fellow relegation contenders and had fairly recently drawn away to Arsenal, Man City and Leicester (we conceded a penalty with the last kick of the match) ... and you had the deluded Bob Bradley as Manager! However we put the car radio on travelling home and in his post match interview Karanka said it was Boro's worst performance of the season! It went downhill from that moment on. The match was played on 17th December and we subsequently "amassed" 10 points out of the remaining 63 until the end of the season. Swansea finished 13 points above Boro with a better goal difference. Ask any Boro fan about this season and that Swansea home win is nearly always quoted as the oasis in a desert of mediocrity and it deteriorated from thereon in. |

Our "attacking" record last season included some interesting stats. Lowest scorers of the 92 League clubs. Lowest shots on target of the 92 League clubs. Failed to score in 18 out of 38 League games. Only scored 3 or more goals in a game once all season (ironically at home to The Swans) Won 1 of our last 20 games (and that a scrappy 1-0 home win against Sun***land). Scored 3 goals in the last 10 games under Karanka. |

Fair to say the posters here don't exactly sit on the fence! It's either black or white with Monk - polarised views with nothing in between. It's all about opinions I guess! |

Impressed by the number of responses and generally constructive feedback. I think having read all the posts I would describe the feedback on Monk's tenure at Swansea as "underwhelming"! Must admit as an outsider that I'm surprised at the extent of the criticism but overall you are well placed to judge so I'll take it at face value which is concerning! A similar question on the Leicester messageboard by another Boro fan resulted in almost unanimous praise for Nigel Pearson (2nd favourite for the Boro job). Thanks again for the feedback everyone. Good club and fans and always enjoyed my trips to The Vetchfield and The Liberty Stadium. Hopefully we'll play you again in a Premier league match in the not too distant future. |

Firstly, well done on staying up - top effort! Looks like Garry Monk is heading to Boro ... so how do you rate him from his time in charge of The Swans? He will be given time and money by our Chairman Steve Gibson so will have every chance of being a success ... if he's good enough. |

Routledge had 9 clubs in 10 seasons before he joined Swansea and he has been with you for 4 seasons now ... so he's long overdue a move. Also he is best mates with Danny Graham so I reckon the writing is on the wall for a move up to God's country. ;) Anyway as long as Boro don't get that goal machine Alvaro Vazquez as part of a swop deal that will be a relief. Maybe he needs to "feel loved" like Emnes to get the best out of him - can't you palm him off to the "redbirds" down the road now they are slumming it back in The Championship? UTB |

"Now then" everyone - Boro fan back again. Impressed with the constructive posts in reply to my questions. I think Boro would be happy to sell "Project Emnes" to you for £2.58 + postage given what he has contributed to Boro in the last two seasons. If not possibly a straightforward player swop ... Bony looks a decent striker. Seriously though I reckon we would take £1.0 - £1.5M which along with getting "Marvellous" off the wage bill would be a good deal for a skint club like us. I actually think Marvin is well suited to Swansea's style of play and as mentioned he seems happy so you are onto a good thing. It's win, win, win for Boro, Swansea and Marv if he signs. A few rumours up on Teesside about what maybe happening. A player swop involving Routledge been one of the more prominent ones. By the way Danny Graham has done OK for us considering he is playing on his own up front. That said I was at Yeovil last game of the season when he missed two of the biggest sitters I have ever seen. Looking forward to the Championship fixtures coming out ... we won't be going to Peterborough after tonights play-off result ... but could be making the trip to Brisbane Road, Deepdale or even New York (Stadium) depending on the outcome. Your longstanding fans have already been there and done that so I hope you continue to enjoy your Premiership odyssey in 2014/15 and beyond. Up the Boro ! |

I made the opening post on this thread back in January when Marvin Emnes joined the Swans on loan from my team Boro. So now we are at the end of the season, what's the verdict on him? Mark out of 10? Do you think he will be with you next season? [Post edited 12 May 2014 23:19]

Some good posts on the thread. My opening post was to give you a flavour of what Emnes has been like at Boro. Obviously it's an opportunity for him at Swansea and I hope he takes it. Graham may come with some baggage but he can and I think will score goals for us at Championship level. We are hardly in a strong position to attract top players given that we are mid-table, have no money, had 13,000 watch our last home game in a 35,000+ capacity stadium and are in the North East which may as well be the Faroe Islands to some players! Given that our forwards have scored 7 goals between the 4 of them all season in over 120 combined games Graham can't do any worse! Good luck today ... for those Swans complaining about your current plight think yourselves lucky ... I'm off now to see Boro play at Doncaster with 4,000+ other Boro fans. No disrepect to Donny but I bet you don't miss going to places like that now you're in the promised land of the Premiership. UTB |

I genuinely hope he does well for The Swans. We don't want him back at Boro but if he feels "loved" and you can get the best out of him then good luck to you. Danny Graham has 1 goal in 30 games but has some good qualities for the Championship and I think he'll do well. He is returning to Boro where started his professional career as an 18 year old and will be welcomed back with open arms. He left on good terms but had a "mission impossible" trying to get in the team with competition from the likes of Viduka and Hasselbaink. I think he will do well at Boro with two good wingers (Adomah and Carayol) supplying the ammunition. |

Interesting reading your comments on todays loan signing. I follow Boro home and away (including the Vetchfield and Liberty Stadium in the past) and I don't know of a single Boro fan who won't be happy that Marvellous Marvin has gone (for now at least). Marvin is known as "Project Emnes" by many Boro fans (he earned this tag after ex-Manager Southgate said he was a long-term project when asked why he had waited 36 games in the 2008/09 season before starting his first League game). This season he has been awful. 1 goal in 23 appearances (incl as sub), he has a heart like a pea, is soft as S***e, looks disinterested and the last two home games when he has been subbed (rightly so) he has gone straight down the tunnel. Not good. He seems more bothered about his hair (which hasn't been cut since he was last at Swansea) than contributing to the team. Our previous Manager Tony Mowbray alluded to Emnes fragile mental state on more than one occasion. "Marvin needs to be loved" was one of the quotes. Earning thousands of pounds a week ... more like needs a kick up the backside! In terms of positives all I would say is he knows Swansea having played there, can be good on the break when tuned in and is only on loan so can be returned to Boro (groan). Anyway good luck for the rest of the season you have been a breath of fresh air to the Premier League, deserved your League Cup win and I hope you enjoy your European adventures. |
