Great to establish a new record unbeaten run from the start of the season but there's a way to go before we get near our longest undefeated league run which is 20 set in the 1966/67 season. Those moaning about recent results may like to know there were 8 draws in that run, including five 0 - 0 s. We also lost five times that season. but after 46 games we won the league by 12 clear points (only 2 for a win in those days), scored 103 goals (Rodney Marsh got 30, Les Allen and Mark Lazarus 16 each) and got promoted. Surely the lesson is that we can't - and don't need to - score shedloads every game. This season is going very, very well indeed. |
