Dunne off?
at 17:17 31 Jan 2025

As much as I love the bloke and even though he is already a true Rangers cult hero (no, not the L word, not by a long chalk) I’m leaning towards agreeing with WilkinsWaterCarrier on this.

We already know he can’t cut it in the middle of a four, ok, he’s been a real asset to us with his height at RB and I don’t underestimate his contribution of late, he’s been outstanding, but do we really think that’s how Marti wants to play long term? Who honestly believes that when Marti thinks about his team for next season, maybe thinking about a play off push, Jimmy is his ideal RB? I still shudder at how that Luton winger kept skinning him the other week.

Of course, replacing him for the rest of the season with someone who got hooked 10 mins after coming on as a sub fills me with dread, but, as Clive has said, we’re not in the bottom 4 anymore, so maybe Marti is confident he can fix Ashby?

As for Wilder, then he’s just on a mad trolley dash and hasn’t done his homework.

Christ knows I love Jimmy Dunne, though. Heart v Head. ‘orrrible, innit?

Right, here’s what to do. His Postie is Rangers, right?
Just get him round there, “couple of these need signatures, Jimmy ….”.

If his Postie has a decent sense of humour, he might already have done it.

I recently downloaded a hiking app on my phone and the voice was the same one.

My other half was getting quite sick of me adding “you utter hairy arsed fckpugg” on the end of every “turn right after 200 metres”, etc.

Vizslas rule 😉

Fck it. We owe this lot after last season and the Benny Hill equaliser at theirs is just part payback.

4-1 to The Rangers. Gutted I can’t be there to see it.

I dare you to fight back the tears watching this version.
The Sky versions make it look like he beat the goalie on the near post, even though it got the net top-right, (to me, anyway) but he actually get it past him on the right, as well.

Yeah, I can even remember him being interviewed in the NME - The Post-Punk Footballer - looking quite the indie band guitarist, with his strategic-placed Joy Division badge on his greatcoat lapel and his indie-fop haircut, playing up to the Hip crowd whilst at the same time playing for that lot in front of a load of NF Vermin, doing monkey chants at their own players.

Then is so embarrassed and sorry for being a footballer in the past that so he works for the BBC as a jobbing football correspondent.

Little Chelsea nob.

Love the bloke.

Just get him practising those 12 yarders with just the goalie to beat, though! Yesterday’s was exactly the same as the Preston one!

I saw a poll on that X thingy from some EFL account yesterday where people were asked to predict their bottom 3. I scrolled through loads of it and not a single mention of us - apart from a bloke who said “Not my QPR anymore”.
Even fans who hate us don’t think of us as relegation material anymore.

Speaking of strippers (we were, weren’t we?) who remembers The Woolpack in Hayes?
What lunch breaks they were!

I think my best memory was taking some American work colleagues there one time.
“So, it’s just going to be a Briddish version of our Tiddy Bars, right”?
“Weeeeelllllll … sort of …”.

Er, let’s say they were shocked, but it was the first place every subsequent visitor wanted to go to.

What a great thread, nice one, Disco.

Catastrophic injury crisis aside, can we really see him ever being picked again?

How very Rangers to replace Dozzell like for like. Makes you wonder what EDB has done if even he can’t get in ahead of this wimp.

Thought we signed Mr Blond, but we signed Mr Jelly.

Our old friend Ashley Young playing against his son, Tyler tonight.

He was on our books for a while, according to a mate’s son he went to school with.

Half decent tv
at 10:15 9 Jan 2025

I finished The Spy (Netflix) last night. True story of an Israeli spy who managed to get into the top echelons of the Syrian Govt in the early-60’s. It’s really good - one of those “oh one more episode, then i’ll go to bed” jobs.

Sacha Baron Cohen plays the lead and he’s very good - there’s me thinking he hadn’t bettered his King Julian role yet.

I’m sure it’s been recommended on here before but too many pages on here now to see who it was to be able to thank them - but you know who you are, so thank you!
