Dibbling on his way to Spurs ?
at 15:25 29 Jan 2025

Good question Grumps.
Although TD has shone in our team, that is not too difficult, currently we would make Ali Dia look good.
TD is obviously a very gifted footballer but he's far from being the finished article.
I don't think he's ready yet to hold down a regular game in any of the top six teams.
He needs games to improve certain elements of his game, so if (when) he goes he should choose very carefully to make sure he goes to a club that can guarantee him game time, but it probably won't be his decision, as we all know it's the agents that dictate where players end up.

Has Kyle Walker-Peters Played His Last Game For Southampton
at 10:41 28 Jan 2025

KWP was seen doing a lap of the ground applauding the crowd (those that were still there) after the final whistle.
OK, KWP has always been appreciative of the support he's had & he's always acknowledged it, but it's unusual for him or any player to do the rounds unless they are leaving the club.
We've had lots of speculation surrounding KWP's future at previous transfer windows but it's different this time with his contract running out at the end of the season allowing him to be a free agent.
I personally don't rate him, he's very vulnerable as a defender (great going forward) but he's far & away the best wing back at the club.

Wouldn't say he's been thrown under the bus, he had a choice & decided he wanted the job, so he jumped under the bus.
I do think he is an upgrade on RM, but he has such a useless bunch of players to work with he's no chance, it's a thankless task.
I think given time & some better players then he could do a good job, unfortunately he's not likely to get either.

If Bournemouth can do it with gates of 11,000 why can't we.
at 18:19 27 Jan 2025

Point taken but, we virtually fill our stadium
Which equates to approx 3 x the Bournemouth gate receipts.
Surely that gives us a better annual income than them, difference being we just waste ours on rubbish Managers & Players.

It's amazing that Bournemouth are such a successful club with their financial limitations due to ground capacity.
It was only a few years ago that the fans were collecting money in buckets to keep the club afloat.
This just proves a point that get the right owners & the right principles running through the club then you can over achieve.
They are playing fantastic aggressive football & getting the results that their performances deserve & currently with most of the players out injured.
I will add that David Brooks is playing some great stuff for them & last season RM was reluctant to use him & we made no effort to keep him.
But it worked in his favour because he's too good to be wasting his time at St Mary's.

Seen Robinson a couple of times & he looks useful.
Why are non of the Academy players getting a look in for the first team.
Some of these lads couldn't do any worse than the current 1st teasers.

That's another Man City thing.
Their ctr backs are expected to move into ctr midfield positions as often as possible.
Difference being they have the quality to do it , we don't.

Thats it I have had enough now
at 12:57 26 Jan 2025

Well I must be a retard then, because I didn't think it was a penalty.
Aribo was in front or at least level with Itak & was entitled to go for the ball.
Itak's leg wraps around Aribo's so it's not a foul by Aribo.
Also if you look close enough you'll see that Itak was tugging on Aribo's shirt pulling him down.
But I agree with everybody else that VAR is killing our wonderful game, we won't have to worry about that next season in the Championship, bring it on.

Sulemane injured so not available for Newcastle
at 13:56 23 Jan 2025

At Ivan Juric's press conference he's said that Kalmadeen Sulemane has a hamstring problem so is not available for Saturdays match against Newcastle.
Apparently he's had Hammy problems before so the club have to be careful with him.
Hamstring injuries are much more of a problem with quick players, it's the sprinting that does the damage.
Such a shame, just when Kalmadeen was starting to show us what he's capable of.
Ivan also mentioned that the squad were not as physically or mentally fit as they needed to be (blame RM for that).
So they have been doing extra work in training to prepare for games.
I must say that I do like Ivan, I think he has a really good understanding of the game.
Given time & I think he'd do a good job for us, BUT, will he get that time or will the club ditch him when we drop into Championship.

Thanks for reminding us just how magical Matt Le Tiss was.
In all my years of watching football I've never seen a more talented player than Le God.(sadly overlooked by our National team)
And most of us had the pleasure of watching him perform the outrageous.

At least Tall Paul has scored a hat trick which more than any other player we have at the club (excusing Tyler's Academy goals).

Is Ramsdale the keeper he was or is he simply behind an utterly pathetic defence
at 19:05 21 Jan 2025

2 of the goals against Forest were the fault of the defence not Ramsdale.
Our defenders kept backing off the oncoming forwards inviting them to shoot, & they were 2 very well struck shots that most keepers would have struggled to keep out.
The 3rd goal came about because Chris Woods was left unmarked in the box & he did what does best & scored with a good header, Ramsdale had no chance.
Our defenders were very guilty of not taking responsibility, Harwood Bellis is very guilty of leaving the opposition unmarked because he panics & does not have faith in our other defenders to do their job, he just doubles up instead of picking out an opponent to mark. He's done that on far too many occasions this season.

There's absolutely no point in bringing in any more loan players, just bring back the ones we've got out on loan & give some of the Academy lads a chance.

Can't believe we went to so much trouble & spent so much money on Downes.
He's a liability, so erratic & lacking in discipline.
Oh how we miss Oriel Romeu.
