| News Comment | Saints Wembley Date Set at 14:11:42
well, there's only one FA Cup semi-final weekend that I'm aware of, 21st and 22nd April. |
| News Comment | Pochettino Criticises Luke Shaw at 14:31:50
Perhaps underweststand, the football adage of 'never go back', notwithstanding Billy Sharp, is never more so wildly wide of the mark than in the case of Wilfried Zaha... just a thought. |
| News Comment | A Rough Guide To Leicester City at 09:55:15
Just to mention that the TollBar Island Roadworks to the south east of Coventry (where the A45 merges with the A46) are ongoing and subject to some delays... the better option may therefore be the A43 off the M40 then onto the M1, if you're travelling up from the South on the A34. |
| News Comment | Saints At Ipswich Town The Verdict at 12:02:05
Fonte was official MOM as declared by Lawrenson 2 minutes from time. Also, I can't remember ever seeing the Portman Road pitch in such poor condition for a long time. It's always had an excellent reputation as a top playing surface... perhaps the 'tractor boys' nickname is more justified than we thought! |
| News Comment | Saints At Stoke City The Preview at 16:06:12
I'm on my way up courtesy of the 5.30pm (ish) train from Coventry... weather not looking too great this evening at the mo! |
| News Comment | Sharp Rewarded For Shoddy Treatment By Saints at 10:02:49
Well said Nick, and agree with posters above. All the best to Billy Sharp, it's good to see RK giving him a run out in the pre season games. I honestly think we could have played him to good effect over the previous two seasons, he's a great poacher, and would have been suited to a manager who wasn't afraid to change things to mix it up a bit... something that certainly MoPo never really did given his 'small squad' style mentality. All the best Billy, hope it works out for you. |
| News Comment | Koeman Confident Of Imminent New Signings at 09:27:29
Agree with your point about loan signings being a vital part of the game Nick. At this point in time it's better for us that we get at least loan players than not at all given the summer exodus. If they're proven and experienced like Bertrand, then bring it on I say. It will also give RK more time to see what works and what doesn't without committing to a long term investment, which, let's face it, may not work. Everyone want stability of course, but in some ways loan signings suit new managers and coaches better to start with at least... |
| News Comment | Saints To Produce Their Own Kit For 2014/15 Season at 12:25:27
I agree that we should return to stripes. I always thought it was a shame last season, when we had Adidas, who did some super traditional striped kits for Sunderland, Stoke, West Brom and Hull City - but didn't do so for us - for whatever reason. |
| News Comment | An Open Letter From Rickie To All The Saints Fans at 09:56:27
SRL we salute you... a true, modest professional who has worked his socks off for Saints over the past 5 years. Southampton's loss is Liverpool's gain, but all the best to him and his family - thanks for all your contributions and all the best of luck in Brazil and beyond - simply the best. |
| News Comment | Whats The Story ? Ecuadorian Glory at 12:05:28
Ah yes, 'Tin' Delgado as some use to refer to him. Let's also not forget that despite spending most of his time injured, he miraculously recovered in time to turn out for Ecuador in the 2002 World Cup? Funny that... |
| News Comment | Saints Set To Clear The Decks at 16:14:05
Another vote to bring Sharp back into the fold. He's a poacher, and would give us an added option up front. I think he could unlock defences in a way that we hadn't been able to do in the last few games of the season, despite controlling possession and territory. |
| News Comment | Saints V Everton The Verdict at 11:32:18
scummerlou, in the widely viewed youtube video of MP bringing Michael Owen crashing down in the 2002 World Cup match v. Argentina, I thought he looked more like Neil from 'The Young Ones'.... |
| News Comment | Saints Capture Maya Yoshida at 12:18:01
darhangelv2, I'd be in the queue behind you for a Del Piero shirt, Juve being my fave foreign club! Seems like he's heading 'down under' to Sydney FC though... |
