Replacing the questions issue with this one. Have been away for a few days so could do with a summary of what issues people are still having with the site and I'll get back on what I can get changed.

Please try not to repeat issues already reported in the thread.

OK phil so I went on youtoob chose a clip pressed the share button and it highlighted the below so I cut and paste but it is only showing the link not embedding it, if I click on the embed button on youtoob it has a big paragraph of code which I would not know where to begin with.

Youtube has loads of ways that you can link to it, and I hadn't catered for the shortened link, so I've added that. So yes the "share link" option on youtube will now work.

*bump*

Sort the quoting options out is it? Only been MONTHS....

i.e. ability to do at least one of the following:

1 - Quote the 1st post in a thread
2 - Edit the quoted text, i.e. delete all but the specific point you're addressing in a long post, or highlight via formatting a particular part.
3 - As above
4 -As above

In addition, make the formatting options - as feeble as they are, more intuitive, i.e. be able to highlight text, then click an icon to make the highlighted text bold or itallic, or - science-fiction I know - different colours.

Enjoying the next level

Yes, the unavailability of quote function for the opening post is pretty ludicrous. If you get five or six pages it is more often than not pointless addressing the opening post and why oh why do we still have the stupid avatars down the right hand side?

a small thing, but after you have posted, you get put back to the forum and it shows the thread you posted to as having an unread post - the one you just did

I’ve taken the requests/issues from the previous thread, and posted below — it would be good if you could copy this into your opening post, so people don’t report the same issues over and over. If you then edit your original post to show the status of each request/issue (reported, being worked on, unable to resolve etc). As the original post appears at the top of every page, it "should" cut down on the repeated reports/requests

requests/issues from the previous thread…

Inability to see if a thread has new posts since you last read it.
Inability to continue a thread from the point where you last read it.
No indicator to show if you have made a post to a thread.

Inability to quote the original post.
Inability to quote part of a post.
Quoted posts change if the original post you quoted is edited.
Inability to highlight text (bold, colour, size) in your post or a quoted post
Inability to preview post, before posting.

View “active topics”
After posting — it should return you to your post, not the Forum Index
No link to current board, so you have to go back to the Forum Index

Display post count for posters
Avatars/Names would be better placed on the left-hand side of post.
“Add to topic” & “Reply with to this post” buttons are not consistent, and could be misleading.
Can we get some extra smileys — Swan, Good Post, Wales (and other) flags etc

Search function not working (takes you to Forum Index)
Remove member from ignored list not working

Site headings not clear and they do not stand out from background (Liberty picture).

Will there be a mobile version of this site?

Will the old site be made available here, in read-only mode?

The complete lack of activity on here these days. The old site was buzzing on not just the football only board but EE and JNF too. F*ck me there was more posting done on the Welsh forum FFS. Will we ever recover?

When our site owner realises repeated gross personal abuse is not banter (or a pub brawl) and when he stops our mod leading the abuse by example e.g.

Expensive for £1.90 I feel.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

Still a lot of entertaining posters on here but the forum software looks appalling and is 20 years out of date.
Being able to quote the original post (duh!), multiple posts and being able to edit them is pretty basic stuff. What's with the OP being at the top of every page FFS?

Sort this out or this forum's days are numbered...there's plenty of scope for a decent, robust forum - especially as the new one seems to have turned into mumsnet.com moderated by a power-crazed Malcolm Muggeridge.
