Energy Price Cap To Rise By 6.4% In April ... 09:15 - Feb 25 with 1054 viewstheloneranger

"Energy bills for a typical household will rise by more than £100 a year in April under regulator Ofgem's new cap - a higher than expected increase adding pressure on people's finances.

The 6.4% increase means a household using a typical amount of gas and electricity will see their annual bill rise by £111 a year, or £9.25 a month, taking the total bill to £1,849 a year."

Aye and importing millions of people every year who will inevitably get older and need looking after too is a brilliant idea.

UK has been loving beyond it means for some time now. Subsides for citizens comes from debt not surplus cash.

If Dwr Cymru is not for profit what are not all the water companies. No dividends with out key performance indicators like leakage control environmental improvements and investments. Regulators seem toothless and weak.

UK voters vote fro looser regulations every election. It is called " cutting red tape".

Dwr Cymru has the highest water prices in the UK. Being not profit there are no incentives to make efficiency savings or invest in modern technologies.

The same happens in all nationalised companies and councils they run for the benefit of staff not the paying customers.

Try telling that to the private, electric, gas and rail companies.

Welsh water has not been nationalised it's owned by a non profit company Glas Cymru Ltd.

It was taken over by them, because the previous private company was in the shit

Yeah just like those who are old now did, people seem to forget these "old people" have more than paid their dues into the system, not all perhaps, but the great majority have, same will happen when you reach old age.

I've worked since I was 16, but I don't officially retire until November 2027 at the grand old age of 66 and 10 months, god only knows how much I've paid into the system.

Governments put the retirement age up without considering the type of work people do, millions suffer from their joints and worse etc brought on by the work they do or have done.

This 100%. It's a fact that prople working today are paying the pension for those allready retired as we did when we worked. Do prople think when the state pension was introduced there was a pot of money there to pay those retired? Not a chance.

If we didn't import the immigrants then could we have had full eployment, you know, if we had kept doing apprenticeships?

There are roughly 1.57 million unemployed and roughly 820k job vacancies.

This proce cap, I'm ok til October, I'm on a fixed tariff..
