Then stayed and chatted to everyone for about three hours after.
Really nice person.

I get that. The demons in the head make people do terrible things sometimes. Most of the people I know who committed suicide did it totally out of the blue and yes, in many cases left themselves for family to find.
I do however question why we need an annual reminder of this event. Gary Speed had no connection to our club yet for some reason we seem to feel the need to commemorate this. I cannot recall the last time the OS made any mention of Alan Davies. |  |

Sorry D I get what you are saying but you have no idea what Gary was thinking at the time.
When I watched the video of dan walker yesterday talking about gary on the 10th anniversary and it brought me to tears knowing that I had an inkling to what he must have felt, you know my troubles mate, my wife and especially my boys got me through it, I just wish that gary had talked to someone 😪

It was one of those jobs all bobbies hated getting deployed.
“ not been seen for some time” messages etc which led to discovery of a body disfigured by violent terminal action ,Dreaded .
I still have a few that resonate to this this day
I worked in the area I live for three years and remember every suicide I attended just by looking at the house driving past .
Some of the notes left still sting me to this day
You never really forget

I have personally experienced the challenges of mental health, both within my family and among members of my team at work.
Like you, I struggle to understand how someone could take their own life by hanging when its likely that their spouse or children will find them.
