Kolli Dad Interview on 12:55 - Oct 28 by DavieQPR

Just got himself some friend to ask him some pre prepared questions to try to make his son rhe innocent party. Plus Harkouk only plated 20 games for us over 2 seasons and was pretty crap.

Tad harsh on Rachid, maybe? I was (very) young though - they were all heroes to me back then, even Ernie Howe.

Tosh!
There is absolutely no way that Rayan doesn't know what he needs to do in order to be in the first team.

Even if the feedback is to knuckle down, work hard, keep quiet and play in the DS.

This ^^ is not that, is it?

Taking Kim Jong Nourry out of the equation, a lack of consistency over this stuff isn't going to be helping.

Do we really freeze a player out for the whole season if he won't sign a new contract? I seem to remember people like Manning and BOS playing at this time of year but, as the season went on it became more of an issue and Manning in particular stopped getting selected. (I could be wrong, terrible memory for these sort of... facts).

A simple disagreement between Marti and Nourry could be the former wants him to be available while its ironed out, especially given the options. But 'The Kid' won't budge.

The thing is if Kolli had been available all season so far he might well have slid down the pecking order anyway without anyone needing to turn this into another social mejia farce.

There's a book to be written about Rachid Harkouk, so many stories about him.

Like you, I was a kid when he signed and something about him made me really want him to succeed for us. He was very QPR: skilful, scruffy, cheeky, bit dirty - and ultimately not quite good enough. Part of that team that got relegated in 78/79, breaking my heart.

He was Barry Silkman's best mate, I read, and there's all kinds of tales of them, one rumour of him being nicked for something or other as Harkouk came off the field somewhere. Who knows if true. But he was sent to prison for two and half years a decade ago, a member of big speed dealing gang in Notts.

Ernie Howe, however, even as a ten-year-old I could tell he was absolute garbage.

Where is your evidence?

He's Marti's butler, that's my guess.

The Rachid Harkouk bit reads like when those Russian agents claimed to have only visited Salisbury in order to see the historic 123m cathedral spire. Tallest in England, it says here.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

He doesn't.

He's got a final ball on him, but he's not Championship standard in many regards. West Brom caught him out several times on day one.

But to go from fully involved in the first team pre-season, and starting the first game of the season, to now not on the bench when we've got two keepers on there, not travelling with the team, not on the squad photo... it looks like there's more to it than they've suddenly decided he's a bit sht.

He played a really dangerous square ball that put the team in big trouble in the West Brom game, not for the first time either as he had done it in pre-season and Marti went apeshit. It was his kakay Millwall moment and thereafter we had the other players come in. Manager has to trust the player. We all wanted him to go on loan with the signings for his development but certainly not to Saudi. Sure there is probably something else to it, the photo op is strange. As ever I suspect the simplest explanation is the right one which is the manager does not fancy him

Or maybe Kaiser Nourry's batman?

Wasn’t aware of that. If so it was a truly appalling decision.

Wasn't there quite a bit more to it than that? There was potentially meant to have been quite a few other moving parts in terms of transfers, loans etc. all going on between different clubs, players and agents.

If we had a finite pot of cash, an agreed general principle to buy younger players with a sell on value where possible and a number of positions to fill to meet the managers overall wishes then there would had different combinations to balance those off. The conversation may have been we can have these 2-3 players for the cost of 1 or 2 other players, what would you prefer - more options covering more positions to give greater depth over the season or fewer players and more cover from the development squad?

Suspect it might just have been on balance, whilst Hayden was good (and now looks to be an asset we could have done with) his salary would have been high, has been averaging less than 20 appearances a season for the past 4 years and would have next to zero sell on value. Looking at that objectively - he ultimately may have been quite low down our options list.

No idea what is going on with Kolli, but it is clear the club see potential and Marti has started to use the kids in different roles when he can (or perhaps had little other choice). Hopefully they can sort it quietly behind closed doors, suspect that agents maybe the issue though.

Never knowingly understood

When he left at the end of the season on a free . Who exactly was going to pick him up as a prospect with so little senior football behind him .

After that game we were walking back to the station and my son and I agreed he was out of his depth. If, as fans, we can see it then I'm pretty sure MC can as well.

Pretty sure that MC doesn't rate him, words were probably said, and that as you say, is the simplest explanation.

Very true.

But I can name about a dozen that at different times this season have looked out of their depth in one match or more.
He certainly didn’t look out of his depth in the games he featured last season.
He lost the ball in dangerous areas for sure .

But Lloyd had done in every game he has played . Morgan did it last Tuesday.

And just about everybody else has done so as we have been so poor.
I’m not saying Kolli is a world beater. Far from it actually .
I just don’t see anybody else pictured with the under 18’s. He’s 19!
That is all about embarrassing / punishing the lad .

People saying that it should be kept in house etc.

That Under 18’s photo is the club doing the exact opposite .

He wasn’t in an U18 squad photo, he was in a development squad photo. They’re totally different squads.

Also in the Dev Squad photo were Matteo Salamon, Casey Shann, Alex Aohara, Harry Murphy and Kieran Petrie - all of whom are older than Kolli.

Really don’t think there’s that much in the squad photo stuff. He ain’t playing for the first team so why would he be in the photo?

But Kolli was really bad against WBA. While others have made stupid individual errors, their all round games are much much better.
Like most youngsters he probably needs to be eased into a team doing well, but then look at Morgan. He looks very comfortable making the step up so far.

I think people got a little carried away after he did OK against Spurs in the pre season. I thought he would be Willocks replacement, but that WBA game was shocking and a major reality check.

Yes. That’s a valid point and one where admittedly I’ve confused the 2 .

Outrageous treatment by the club. First he's dropped with no explanation, then he's banished from the team photo. Now he's been ordered to drag Chair around on a sleigh like some sort of massive husky.
