Benham potentially selling Brentford? on 20:26 - Feb 21 by nadera78 | No, this is not what Rothschild's has valued the club at. It's what someone (probably connected to Benham) has told a journalist the club is valued at. |
Really ? | | | |

Benham potentially selling Brentford? on 13:48 - Feb 21 by LongsufferingR | A US buyer will probably come in, totally neglect how Benham got them where they are, overspend, get them relegated and back in League One before you know it. [Post edited 21 Feb 13:58]

Benham potentially selling Brentford? on 15:08 - Feb 21 by switchingcode | Zero debt made a profit last season if we don’t get relegated this season there is a guaranteed 150 million + for next season and then a further 100 mill in parachute if then relegated.Mad money |
Those numbers are worthless. You will get £100M for Toney and then the magic trick is to find a replacement. Toney has essentially kept you up. So you add a £100M to your £150M and you have a reasonable war-chest and you have an excellent record of signing players. Plus, it's an unknown how much cash Benham will leave in the club - given his investment. As for the stadium, it does not have attractive real-estate investment potential. Benham being the smart chap he is built a purpose facility for Brentford which holds circa 17,000. So what does £400M buy you? Not a lot. A purpose built stadium, local fanbase and a team who has punched well above their weight. Any new buyer will need to be a better magician than Benham. Whilst, not in the £BN's league Benham is a smart operator and has a sure-footed business CV - I wonder why he is thinking of selling? Fernandes has a few £BN in his back-pocket!

Simple. You buy low, sell high. He, nor anyone else, will be able to grow Brentford anymore. As I said to a Brentford friend when they finished 10th, or something, 'that's as good as it's gonna get'.

Finished 9 th last season and yes I expect that’s as good as it gets if you play by the rules and maybe why Benham is looking for investment elsewhere.
