At the end of the match Ilias looked pretty angry about something, came breifly over to the fans but looked extreemly angry about something and made a hasty exit to the tunnel. MS made a big thing for the entire squad and coaches to come over to the fans but Illias was already near the tunnel and had to be persuaded to come back which he did.
Wonder what made him so angry. Had there been any verbal exchanges earlier?
I'd be curious to hear from the man himself but I would like to guess that he is carrying more of the relegation burden than anyone else in this squad. For most of this season he has been the sole source of creativity (we rely on him most the time), which puts more pressure and focus on him to deliver. I saw some negativity towards him online after Stoke - the bloke tried everything. He's also been at the club the longest so is most invested. Hopefully the additions of Hodges and Andersen and Willock seemingly starting to pull his weight can take some of the burden and focus off Illy. I'm glad that cut back from Andersen was to Illy - that was the smartest thing about that play - picking someone who would slot it and not waste it.
