Sunday People reporting we are interested in a loan deal, Liverpool would like £15M+ but recognise that is unlikely & might be up for another loan to get some of his £60K pw covered - him sitting in the middle of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 would look a decent set-up.

PS not suggesting we’d cover the full £60K pw but we might go to £25/30K.

So having a side geared to attacking and creating lots of chances for a good striker is now not so desirable? We tried the negative and defensive method last season and failed miserably.

Didn’t we finish 4th and get to a playoff final when we barely expected to scrape a playoff spot?

We were more attacking under Potter and came 10th.

Defending with the ball vs defending without it. Only two teams had a better defensive record from open play than we did that season under Potter. Just a shame set pieces ruined us. His Brighton side are the same, dominate the ball and restrict opposition chances.

Planet Swans reckon we have enquired about MGW aswell.

That would be epic. Surely couldn’t get both?

It would be great .

Think i would prefer MGW back over wilson, you could tell there was some player there with MGW and he clearly wanted to be here. It will be one or the other though, cant see us signing both.

Porto allegedly in for Wilson.

Would be a nice move for him.

Mitchelmore just reporting the news we are interested in him are wide of mark anyway.

Liverpool are looking at Otavio of Porto as a possible replacement for Wijnaldum so Wilson as part of any deal isn’t too left field.

However, no team is going to pay the fee Liverpool are allegedly asking and I can’t see any team outside of the Premier matching the wages he is reputedly on.

If we really wanted him that much we’d have gone in for him last season

For me yes - I’d suggest in the middle of the 3 behind Piroe in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

I'd have said right side of a three for us personally.

But unless someones telling Mitchy porkies, which is plausible as we would more than likely want to keep things quiet, it's irrelevant. Nixon, who used to be pretty reliable with us, hasn't had one right in a long time.

You could be right RJ, although suspect the Wilson situation is likely to resolve sooner as he is clearly not in Klopp’s plans whereas with Wolves having a new gaffer you’d have to think he’d want to have a decent look at MGW before allowing a loan/exit - might be a late window option.

Ian Mitch and Tom Coleman have not got a clue, guessing all the time!
Done a report yesterday on Swans transfer news yesterday and not a dicky bird about Liam Walsh.... Hour later it hits BBC that Liam Walsh is in advanced talks with us, proves he has no idea.

Doesn't have a scooby doo.

Apparently we can’t afford him but bizarrely Cardiff can. (According to Wales online) . Lol

Don't like to give it all the "itk" b*llocks as I'm far from it, but heard off someone today who I would imagine is very reliable, saying the Wilson thing isn't made up and we definitely have a chance.

I think if we want him we stand a better chance than Cardiff. How Wales online makes them better off than us financially after we made a profit and them a loss I don’t know. And that’s without the 15 million or so to Nantes for Sala

.

This would be precisely what we need and desperately missed last term.

The way in which Wilson, Mount and Huddlestone totally bossed us (even with Grimes as DCM) in 2019 was massively impressive.

If we manage to retain Grimes, our best player and talisman, our midfield could kick on and deliver what our controlled defensive platform deserves.

Add Joel P into the mix......
