Davis was one of the three players that knocked on our front door last christmas to surprise my youngest daughter for the progress she had made with the Saints disability team. He was great and was really interested in what she had been doing. As has been mentioned he is a real gent. Link for anyone who is interested:

That's lovely! I do love clubs and players doing something with the wider community, seeing the children's faces light up is brilliant!
I see some people have forgotten his name already. It's Davis. Steven Davies is the former Blackpool player who currently plays for Hamilton Academicals.
Congratulations to Steve Davis for getting such a great result in his 120th international game.

Haha indeed. There’s a few caps left in him too, he’s still playing well up at Rangers these days. Get past Slovakia & he could finish in style leading us at the Euros next summer.
Ha, yes it was Elyounoussi. He also turned up at one of the training sessions the kids were having at Staplewood one sunday afternoon. Coaches weren't expecting it and he had a kick about, photos etc He was just as polite and interested as well.
Say what you like about Elyounoussi as a player (and people have..frequently) but when he is stood on your doorstep and walks into the house he is a decent, polite and talkative bloke, always smiling.

Quite correct Dirk, thanks. I've amended the title.
He has always been the consummate professional. Not one to make a noise about what he does but quietly gets on with it.
I so wanted him to be player of the year at least once because he gave us unswerving service but there always seemed to be a player just ahead of him because they received more attention publicly.
I always felt his departure was understated and under recognised by the club and fans.
