Joe Rodon speculation is accurate : *Update* Levy will sit it out if he has to. 18:05 - Oct 5 with 27735 views | KeithHaynes | Spurs are in talks as we disclosed earlier, however there is a chance this could happen tonight. * Update* Fortunately for Swans fans their low rating and offer for Rodon stalled matters last night. We hear today Daniel Levy is prepared to sit it out for as long as possible forcing other clubs to place bids and test the water. 6th Oct 2020 Now the European squad submissions are all but done today, West Ham could enter in to a bidding war, and if Joe has to go then hopefully the price gets to the real figure we all believe he is worth.

Joe Rodon speculation is accurate : *Update*West Ham prepared to step in on 11:23 - Oct 7 by pencoedjack | Probably more likely if he went to Spurs rather than West Ham. |
The loan quota is filling up fast. Better to buy a centre back cheaply and loan another striker. Give Brandon Cooper a full season at Newport to mature into the role for next season. Joe Lewis could make strides after Christmass. Cullen could then also be loaned to the likes of Newport to get goals and mature (minimum 20 games).

However if he did go for good dosh, we could actually kick on if Cooper and Scott work their magic. - Rodon's key attribute is his physicality and defensive solidity. Cabango can do this. - Get a ball-playing, driving CH (a la Beckenbauer) - and some options up top

Dont agree. Rodons main strengths are his pace and footballing ability. Already better than McGuire. Weakness - I think big Joe should be more of a threat in the sky from attacking set pieces.

I don't see Joe as being particularly physical. The grappling seems to be left to Cabango. Agree in getting a ball-playing, driving CH (a la Beckenbauer) but that is how I remember Cabango playing for the under 23s. Either he hasn't processed the sale at a senior level or his role is defined as the stay back player of the 3. At present the back three work well together.

Joe Rodon speculation is accurate : *Update*West Ham prepared to step in on 00:13 - Oct 8 with 1802 views | jasper_T | Joe was never really a set piece threat in the u23s. His competitiveness in aerial challenges has improved immensely (looked scared to head a ball said Cheltenham fans) but Cooper and Cabango were both bigger threats in the opposition area and nicked a few goals here and there. Brandon has gone close a few times for Newport this season, he's got that knack despite not being a towering presence. Joe was the guy to run the ball into midfield. Feel he's a bit wasted playing sweeper between Cabango and Guehi, doesn't get the chance to go wandering often enough.

Lad from Newbridge up here played age grade football with Joe for Wales (he's at a league 2 side now), he said Rodon has got a nasty streak in him, I can't imagine that personally as he seems really quiet but apparently he can more than look after himself. Reckons Cabango is a character aswell, sort of lad you'd want to have a beer with. Anyways, the point about Joe not being physical, I would agree with you as he seems more of a ball player type to me, but he's got it in him definitely. Must say mind I noticed what Jasper was on about in regards to his running style against Millwall. He got into a foot race with a Millwall forward in the first half down near the corner flag on West Stand, he looked like the road runner not using his stride at all, looked weird. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Most good players have a element of nastiness in them. Keeping it in check is the key. Its better to have it in you and control it, because its very hard to get 'nasty' into someone who hasnt got that in them. On the running style, it does look a bit odd but he has a short stride length but a very fast cadence. different people have different styles. Michael Johnson was the same and it didnt work out too bad for him.

Reminds me very much (for those that remember him) a young Alan Hanson bringing the ball out of defence, cool on the ball. Far better as an attacking CB, if you know what I mean rather than the sweeper role he is now used in.

Completely agree, especially as a defender. I don't think the running style effects him at all, Giggs seems to think he can keep up with the quickest players in welsh set up so it's another weapon in his armoury. I think he has everything needed to be a top, top centre half. I was maybe hoping we could keep him this season, but there's no chance of that now imho.

I met some of Cabango's family last year in Rhodes, his Grandad among them. If he's like his Grampy he's definitely worth having a beer with, he was a proper character. Levy can wait, hoefully someone will put a silly bid in. By hopefully I mean, if we have to lose him, might as well hooe for top dollar!

If Spurs, now the international window is shut for them, have screwed up and left themselves short of a Joe then we are in the driving seat. Joe is young, loves the club and is Swans through and through. If he stays he won’t throw a hissy fit. He will develop and his International career is on track. Time is on his side. Lots in our favour as long as the owners have backbone....and learn to play poker.

Not sure why £15m and a loan back is good value. How about we keep him for a year and then sell him for £25m - £30m. That has exactly the same effect but we get more money!

Its a shame our majority owners who have the 'resources and motivation to make us competitive have downgraded it. Constant rumours about them wanting to sell it off completely too.

Didn't do his cause any favours last night (didn't really have to in the first half) - maybe a competitive game will be better to show what he's worth.

You seem to be living in this cloud cuckoo land of idealistic and perfect scenarios but that’s not how it works Look at Ampadu now. Maguire. Nothing is guaranteed. Especially not in football when so many things can affect a players improvement or lack of it. Many young promising players down the years haven’t lived up to the hype.

Just appreciate it, Chief. There's no need to involve owners etc in admiring what we've done these last few seasons. They keep paying for status 1 or whatever it is, I have no idea. But we produce and keep producing. When, and if Joe goes, I have plenty of faith there'll be someone to step into his place in the team!

Was looking at the whole picture. We aren't cat 1 anymore, we've dropped as a cost cutting exercise.
