Fulham 0 Barnsley 3
Leeds 0 Wigan 1

There’s your answer

Europe’s most competitive League and 5th biggest. Certainly not poor.

Poorest championship I can remember, makes it even worse we can't break into top 6. An average manager would have got us there.
Apologies, I digress.

Disagree. Although when we make comparisons with our Premier League stint, our current playing standard is well below that. And the game last Tuesday v QPR was awful wasn’t it.

But in general the Championship is a good standard. Compare and contrast it with say League Two and then further down to Welsh League and you’ll realise how good it is. There’s still a fair gap to the Premier League though but Sheffield Utd might disagree with that.

Unreal that we were a good defense away from beating Derby and Hull, thus putting us in equal 6th place.

The fact though, is that just about every team from 1st to 12th has had huge chances to win more points than they have. Take 12th place Sheff Wed. 18pts lost from winning positions. Earn all those, and they are 2nd on 62pts.

Then us. 16pts lost from winning positions. All those takes us to 64pts and into 1st place. Every team could make an argument to how they have bottled automatic promotion/playoffs.

It’s not a good standard. Yes, of course it’s better than league two and the Welsh league, but this league is there for the taking for anyone with a well managed, half decent squad. We’d be challenging the top two with a competent manager.

Norwich would probably agree about the difference in quality.

“ It’s not a good standard “

What are you comparing it with? Of course it’s a “good” standard of football. It’s not the Premier League, La Liga The Bundesliga or Serie A but it’s s very highly competitive good League with around 18/19 Clubs who’ve played at the highest level. May be depending on Charlton and Bristol City who I think have both played in the Premier League. Attendances being the 5th highest in Europe suggest that football fans think it’s a good standard with big rewards.

Anyway it’s just an opinion. You have a different one. 👍🏻

Ok, let me rephrase it.

The current squad is certainly lacking in central midfield, but even allowing for that, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be challenging the top. There is nothing to be scared of in this division. Unfortunately though, our manager is not up to scratch and is holding us back short term, our owners are holding us back medium term.

Agreed, it’s just my opinion

You’ve changed the subject completely

The loss of Rodon and VDH to injury has been hugely detrimental this season as all of the replacements haven’t played consistently well enough and in the case of Guehi it’s doubtful that he’s ready for the Championship: looking nervous ponderous and indecisive.

Re ownership the Club is in transition. It’s not enjoying a good time. The future isn’t looking too rosy; we need new owners with interest and ambition not to mention a few quid ...

No, same subject.

There’s nothing to fear in this league and we’d be there or thereabouts if we weren’t so predictable and played players in positions that suit them.

Results like this happen all the time in the championship, we lost at home to wigan 2 years ago when we went up, away to burton. When we won the league, on a 10 match winning we lost home and away to relegated Peterborough. The standard through the league might not be as good this year but the same freak results still happen.
