We've been crying out for a new midfielder, we were sure we weren't going to get one, and yet we have got one who also had experience in the Championship. Easy choice.
If Gallagher is as good as he seems to be then he's the difference between a playoff spot and tedious mid table.
Nobody else we've signed has that capacity to make or break our season.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Guehi possibly going under the radar. Rumours Chelsea want to see him develop as a cdm which suits us perfectly with Gallagher driving box to box and Grimes given the freedom to architect.

Would be excellent if so.

You would think Guehi is coming in to replace one of our squad who is expected to leave. Rumours are he's likely to stay for 18 months so we may be taking him now with an eye on next season! Only a rumour. But with Van Der Hoorn, Rodon, Cabango and Wilmot doing well or very well who misses out? He can, apparently, play left back but it's not what Chelsea want. We had to replace Surridge and Brewster looks like a similar player - busy and not particularly efficient in front of goal (watch him score a hat trick after the comment!) if Borja is staying he should be first choice and play adjusted to suit him. Gallagher has played a lot of football with Charlton but independent performance ratings place him well below Grimes for the season. Having watched his 'show reel' and considering the Charlton game I can't say he sets the pulse racing. Maybe he'll continue scoring the goals that have eluded our midfield but that could be down to Cooper's tic-tacs.

Gallagher looked ok to me in his YouTube audition video; how he fits with us will be key. Will we get the best out of him or not? Cooper’s midfield have quite a lot of freedom (too much at times which is why they’ve often been caught upfield and exposed the defence to quick counters). That might suit him. We’ll see.
Our best business this window could end up being whoever we keep hold of. Lose VdH, Joe or Ayew and it will have been a bad window.

On the bench again today though, so seems down the pecking order compared to the other loans. Bit early to read too much into that maybe?
