Vitality Blast 22:16 - Jul 25 with 10984 views | EllDale | Great win for Lancs at Headingley tonight. Didn’t think 170 runs would be enough but bowlers did well.

Vitality Blast on 08:22 - Jul 26 with 4409 views | isitme | No idea why Faulkner didn't come out before Jennings and Bohannan to give it some tap with four overs to go. Probably 10 runs shy of where we should have been. Key wickets by Parkinson and Mahmood. If they stay fit both most be in the reckoning for England.

Agree with that. If it wasn't for Vilas' innings it would've been a very different story and the removal of Pooran was absolutely key in protecting that. Parkinson's leg spin is incredibly consistent and would definitely be a useful additon to England's options.

Parkinson's batting average is akin to Jack Leach's too, so the pair should probably open for England.

Just as long as England don't revert to Keaton Jennings... As an aside to this thread, with the Ashes less than a week away i've never seen the top of our batting order in such disarray, and after 50-odd years of watching England that's saying something. Neither Burns or Denly remotely look like succeeding at test level and Roy is a gamble - albeit one we can afford even if he only gets in 3 or 4 times in a series [Post edited 26 Jul 2019 10:55]

Jennings hasn't been in great form for Lancs neither! The top three is a mess. Burns looks to have the same fault as Jennings that he doesn't know where his off stump is. If it wasn't the Ashes I'd be tempted to give Sibley and Crawley a decent run. I've no idea who could bat at three. Banton is another of the middle order batters who fan keep. With so much white ball cricket the traditional longer form top three batter is a dying breed. Bairstow has also looked increasingly exposed in the test match format and Ali has become a liability. As soon as he comes in teams bowl short. I would really struggle to pick a team for the first test. [Post edited 26 Jul 2019 11:41]

Vitality Blast on 11:40 - Jul 26 with 4233 views | EllDale | I was always told that your best batsman should go in at number three. So it has to be Root. The trouble is though that there's a good chance that he'll be going out to bat within the first ten overs! Is Kohler-Padmore worth a try? Long shot I know.
Vitality Blast on 11:44 - Jul 26 with 4231 views | isitme | Again he is another dasher. Our openers are failing to see off the new ball. If the score is 40-0 off twenty then so be it. The older ball and bowlers coming back for their third/fourth spells makes batting easier. Too often we have been 33-3 off about 10 overs.

Doubt it. England's batting in the first innings was very poor. Their bowlers are now doing what you would expect against Ireland, with due respect. 36-8 now.

I see that the Manchester based team for the 100 ball comp will be called the Manchester Originals. Is that really the most imaginative name they could have come up with !!

Awesome win, Notts threw that away. Now chucking it down at OT, even the rain held off literally until the final ball.

Looked dead and buried after 7 overs of the Lancs innings but that is a great win. Parkinson with more timely wickets.
