On what possible basis was he ever appointed to be Manager at the Swans ? Yet another catastrophic appointment , retained for a good 2 months too long which ultimately f##ked us over

I on't think anyone should be blamed for his appointment - just to many poor acquisitions.

How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 23:29 - Sep 19 with 4547 views | omarjack | Well, If it wasn't for him taking over at a dire point of the season, at 12 pts in 19 or 20 games. We would have been relegated a year earlier. He tightened the leaky, embarrassing defence, He introduced Mawson and it turned out great, he scored many crucial goals (Mawson, not Clement lol). Siggy and Llorente thrived under him. But we all know how the board f*cked him over the season after that, losing Gylfi and Fernando, and replacing them with dross as we all know. And it was him who took the bullet in the end. Is he a negative manager? Yes, But he had to deal with our owners and beaky the c*nt. Nobody can really thrive for long under those wretches. How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 23:45 - Sep 19 with 4505 views | francos16 | Fair point but many would say the real turning point was when he was ‘ press ganged ‘ into Playing Brits ( after ignoring him completely for 3 months )and realised that this guy was head and shoulders above anything he had played in centre mid . Coupled with both Chelsea and Scousers sending down two depleted / under strength sides and 6 precious unexpected points plus Sunderland already doomed turning over Hull at their gaffe prior to the Everton late kick off home game got him over the line . Reality caught up with him early into the next season and the real failure was the Board allowing the position to drag on almost relentlessly before disposing of him .see previous posts referred to . Some might say the posts may be deemed as foresight ... not hindsight

How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 00:39 - Sep 20 with 4428 views | E20Jack | The man who guided us to our most successful 6 months in our Premier League history and giving us another year of Premier League football? Agree we kept him too long, but giving a manager time is a good thing in my books rather than the reactionary button pushing of modern day football. Same goes for Laudrup, should have probably been sacked months previously. Anyone who is saying it was a bad appointment is just re-writing history, or just doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. either one.

OK so that post was for the "strictest record" - you do understand that this is a public forum yes and that anybody can now see that post? When you refer to "your VC" that suggests you aren't a Swansea fan so you utilised some time (presumably face to face) in the company of Mr Dineen to plead for an appointment that hadn't yet happened but was clearly rumoured So given your place as a non Swansea fan (an assumption I draw from your post) we can only take your "strictest record" viewpoint on this because everything else you have posted on here was at a stage where most people could see that Clement and Swansea were not a good fit Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing
How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 06:20 - Sep 20 with 4292 views | builthjack | A good appointment at the time. We thought that with his connections he would bring a few in and play decent football. He did brilliantly to start, keeping us up against all the odds. Then the rot set in. His loan signings were useless. But were the permanent signings his, or were they signed by others? The football went downhill, and the rest is history.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 23:08 - Sep 19 by Cooperman | Hindsight is such a wonderful thing. Were you opposed to his appointment on the day he joined us? |
Yep. He was a gamble and we went for him because of his reputation as a coach at the highest level and as a relative rookie I expect he would be cheap. Classic Jenkin's curveball - try and pick someone up from under the radar (at a bargain price). And that's probably the way we need to carry on tbh - that's what got us to the PL. Failed miserably in this case though. And there were some warning signs from his brief spell at Derby too weren't there?
How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 10:05 - Sep 20 with 3964 views | Catullus | A bad manager at one club could be a good manager at another, and vice versa. Some managers have limited success and get jobs all the time because of it...Hughes, Pardew. Some managers think they're gof and never recognise their own faults or accept blame...Allardyce. Clement had potential, Potter seems to be very good but who knows long term? Look at Giggs, Wales thrash a poor Irish team and the media are calling him a genius then we meet Denmark and.....foresight, hindsight, reaction and over reaction....it's just football. You act on the evidence you have at the time, or not. Some decisions are blatantly wrong and some that seem wrong work out ok. At the time Clement seemed like a good idea and whether you credit him or provide other reasons, we stayed up in his first season when we looked doomed. Bradley, now that's an entirely different story.

Clement was allowed to identify and bring in players (according to Clement) Sanches and Abraham, both considered by many to be good acquisitions. The squad he had should have been good enough to stay in the Premier League. The major mistake was sacking Guidolin and the way it was done There was nothing the board could do to keep Sigurdsson or Llorente.

How the f ##k did we ever appoint Clement ? on 10:28 - Sep 20 with 3929 views | jack247 | We had got ourselves into a situation where we needed a firefighter to tighten up the defence and scrape out points. When I say ‘we’ I mean the Americans with the Bob Bradley fiasco. Clement was perfect for that. Made us hard to break down and pinch wins primarily through set piece football. Where he struggled was kicking on the following season, he wasn’t really able to construct attacks without his free kick specialist and an old fashioned centre forward. He did stay too long, but he did the job he was brought in to do with something to spare.
