Giggs new Wales manager on 13:43 - Jan 15 by CamberleyR | Is he going to show up for friendlies? |
Joking aside, how will / can he deal with players who don't want to play friendlies in order to prolong their club careers?
Giggs new Wales manager on 15:27 - Jan 16 with 1946 views | johncharles | I feel long stretches of boredom interrupted by short burst of tedium coming on. Much preferred to have Bellamy. Much the same qualifications (i.e. none) but totally different characters. Bellamy would be much more entertaining and at least he did turn up for the friendlies. [Post edited 16 Jan 2018 15:32]

Giggs new Wales manager on 17:01 - Jan 15 by Juzzie | If he hasn't got any of those tasks to do, how is it cutting his teeth? If he at some point in the future is no longer Wales' Manager, he'll be in exactly the same position as of yesterday when it comes to Managing at Club level.... none. Cutting his teeth would be starting off at lower League level and working his way up. [Post edited 15 Jan 2018 17:02]

Well he won't be will he because he'd have managed the national team, picked a squad, picked a starting eleven, managed a campaign or two and either have been successful or failed. He's cut his teeth in all those fields plus tactics, scouting opposition and working the media. "Cutting his teeth would be starting off at lower League level and working his way up". Says who? How many managers in the Premier League have actually done that?

Being at club level you're involved in having to find players that not only suit your needs but fit within a transfer/agent fee/salary budget. That's a huge juggling act to do and doesn't happen at International level. He can just pick one of the world's best players at whim. Not all but quite a few have Managed lower league teams early on in their career; Jürgen Klopp 2001—2008 Mainz 05 (They we level 2 all this time until promotion in 2008) 2008—2015 Borussia Dortmund 2015— Liverpool Arsène Wenger 1984—1987 Nancy (predominantly a Ligue 2 club) 1987—1994 Monaco 1995—1996 Nagoya Grampus Eight 1996— Arsenal Sam Alladyce 1991—1992 Limerick (player-manager) 1992 Preston North End (caretaker manager) 1994—1996 Blackpool 1997—1999 Notts County 1999—2007 Bolton Wanderers 2007—2008 Newcastle United 2008—2010 Blackburn Rovers 2011—2015 West Ham United 2015—2016 Sunderland 2016 England 2016—2017 Crystal Palace 2017— Everton Antonio Conte 2006—2007 Arezzo - Serie C 2007—2009 Bari - Serie B 2009—2010 Atalanta - Serie A 2010—2011 Siena -Serie C 2011—2014 Juventus 2014—2016 Italy 2016— Chelsea Roy Hodgson 1976—1980 Halmstad 1982 Bristol City 1982 Oddevold 1983—1984 Örebro 1985—1989 Malmö 1990—1992 Neuchâtel Xamax 1992—1995 Switzerland 1995—1997 Inter Milan 1997—1998 Blackburn Rovers 1999 Inter Milan (caretaker) 1999—2000 Grasshoppers 2000—2001 Copenhagen 2001 Udinese 2002—2004 United Arab Emirates 2004—2005 Viking 2006—2007 Finland 2007—2010 Fulham 2010—2011 Liverpool 2011—2012 West Bromwich Albion 2012—2016 England 2013 England U-21 (caretaker) 2017— Crystal Palace Paul Lambert 2005—2006 Livingston 2006—2008 Wycombe Wanderers 2008—2009 Colchester United 2009—2012 Norwich City 2012—2015 Aston Villa 2015—2016 Blackburn Rovers 2016—2017 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2018— Stoke City Carlos Carvalhal 1998—1999 Espinho 1999—2000 Freamunde 2000 Vizela 2000—2001 Aves 2001—2002 Leixões 2003—2004 Vitória Setúbal 2004—2005 Belenenses 2006 Braga 2006 Beira-Mar 2007—2008 Vitória Setúbal 2008 Asteras Tripoli 2009 MarÃtimo 2009—2010 Sporting CP 2011—2012 BeÅŸiktaÅŸ 2012 Ä°stanbul BB 2015—2017 Sheffield Wednesday 2017— Swansea City
Giggs new Wales manager on 15:56 - Jan 17 with 1717 views | 1MoreBrightonR | Match of the day was interesting....you really got a feeling how much everyone in the studio disliked him. They didnt say much, other than the friendlies joke, but it seemed obvious they didnt like him.
