Shrewsbury on 21:29 - Sep 30 with 3254 views | D_Alien | They've had a fantastic start to the season, in much the same way as Scunny last year, who couldn't quite maintain it We've probably been as close to taking points off them as anyone

Agreed would much prefer a battling club like them win it but I suspect that the bigger clubs will run them down as they did Scunthorpe last year. Its funny how a great start like the Shrews have had often makes little difference to a season yet a similar season finish 29 points from 33 would almost guarantee playoffs.
| This is not the time for bickering.

Shrewsbury on 12:05 - Oct 1 with 2972 views | ColDale | Didn't rate Shrewsbury when we played them, don't rate Hurst as a manager and don't particularly rate many of them as players. Felt it was three points lost when we went to their ground. But they're doing something right and can only be applauded for it. Bottom half form for the rest of the season should be sufficient now for them to make the play offs, and if they can stretch this out a couple more games or so, survival form could be enough for them to push for automatic.
Shrewsbury on 12:31 - Oct 1 with 2938 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Good on em......they've only dropped 4 points so far and need 21 (or so) for survival. How good are they.......let's see at Christmas
Shrewsbury on 13:25 - Oct 1 with 2879 views | D_Alien | Looking at what happened to Scunny last year, and Shrews similar start this time round raises an interesting question Which would we, as Daleys, prefer? To start like a rocket then get gradually pulled back to end up scrapping for a playoff place? Or to start like a damp squib and gradually ignite to make a late challenge for the playoffs? I can imagine the carnage on here if we were to make a fantastic start and then run out of steam, finishing 7th. It was bad enough when we should've taken the L2 title in 09/10 before securing a promotion spot and then playing like a broken outfit for the last couple of games

With Dale, there's always a desire to see 50 points on the board and another season of avoiding a relegation place. One aspect of Shrewsbury's run, up to yesterday, was that, of their ten matches, two had been drawn and the other eight all won by a single goal. And against Scunny it looked like ending 1-0 until the 86th minute. So a small dip in form could lead to a run of narrow defeats. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Shrewsbury on 23:58 - Oct 1 with 2638 views | Daley_Lama | Hard to judge Shrewsbury on the game at their place. Our defence was as makeshift as it could be Three penalties given, if theirs was soft, our second was softer We were abysmal throughout the first half because of our defence At 2-2 I thought we would win, as we looked the more likely Only a dodgy clearance gave them the winner A bit like the 3-2 win over Scunny last season at home, they didn't on that day look like a promoted after 46 games team but were top at the time. Having said that, momentum is awesome in football and Shrews can go a long way. Scunny and Fleetwood did last season over supposedly better squads, only for Milwall to have the strength in depth to look fresh in the playoffs. Hope they fall flat on their ***** however as I have a deep routed dislike of their club from teenage years.
