In town on holiday, contemplating wednesday's game, and hello Phil :) 10:01 - Aug 7 with 2049 viewsneuaddsibly

Hi guys,
Quick question: i am on holiday in swansea (from germany) and would love to take my kids to the match on wed... me and my son are swansea fans and he'd be made up.. we're yet to see a match there. Question: any tips about parking and ticket availability on the night? I found online tickets but not sure if thats needed. And saw sth about a 5 quid car parking ticket? Is that for the stadium carpark?
Not sure how many of ya are from back in the jackarmynet days. I was around back then, in fact i wrote a few times for Phil Sumbler and the site, and also had my song played at the very first trust meeting, one of the proudest moments in my life. Would really appreciate any tips guys!!! We just missed the Sampdoria match, but this will still be a great chance too.

with regards to parking, there are loads of places aorund the ground you can park for £5/6. I've never parked in the ground due to it being a season ticket pass thing, although i'm pretty sure Darren has said it's not covered for Wednesday so might be fair game for parking.
Not sure if the game is pay on the day .

Cheers Shandyjack, could be a goer then. Anyone know whether the usual park and ride options would be on tonight? The more tips the better, really appreciate it :)
The liberty website offers a 5 pound parking ticket, so i'm guessing this is for near the ground, but i couldnt see any definite details.

Welcome back and hope you enjoy the game

I would probably get the tickets online if you have a chance - the game wont sell out but saves queuing on the night (unless you are already over at which point call in)

Parking wise - as has been said there are plenty of places around the ground that you can pay or if you are early enough park for free. The downside tothe stadium car park is you cant get out straight after the game - no issues if you want a drink/food somewhere after but if you need a getaway then I would avoid it

Though the getaway may not be a problem Wednesday if there are no away supporter buses to clear first.

Match days are a pain though!

Hey there Phil,
Thanks for the tips. Where are these "plenty of places around the ground" that you mention? Really doesnt have to be the stadium car park, knowing thst there's a plan b would be grand.
Will pro get the tickets online then, just cant print them out so i guess will still have to queue at ticket office. Another silly question maybe: west stand or east stand? Any clear preferences?
Cheers, Paul

Wasn't Neuadd Sibly a Swansea University Hall of residence on Sketty Road in the Uplands?

In my day it was for female students only, I think. They allowed blokes to stay there eventually.

Probably been sold off by now to property developers.

Sure was. It's where i stayed when i studied here, it's where i met my wife, and it's where i fell in love with swansea and the swans, thanks to the cheap student vetch prices :) It became my nick on jackarmynet (or sibly i think) and my first band name :) Was definitely mixed by time i stayed there though :)

Beaufort road you can park for free if you get there about an hour before kick off. Park on road (not on grass or you will get a parking ticket. It is then a 10 minute stroll on the river bank path.
