Corbyn as Prime Minister on 12:00 - Jun 2 by electricblue | One thing is certain and that is since the 2010 GE politics as become a more personal attack on i divivuals by the the tories... That is how the tories won the GE with camorons dirty tricks campaign.... This GE is the same by the tories less focus on the policies etc and more against Corbyn or whoever.... Corbyn will not get drawn into it and he as proved that..... |
The 2010 GE was won as soon as Ed stabbed his brother in the back.

In what what way did Ed stab David in the back? Should someone just stand aside just because their elder brother wants a position? It's not the monarchy, or North Korea. They had a fair election, and the voters chose one over the other.

Being in the Heywood +Middleton constituency, I've had just one leaflet (from Liz McInnes) and thats been it. Is leafleting now seen as something from the past ?

Much as I like " Private Eye " they've always had a downer on the trade unions. It's run by ex public school boys after all. What do they know about the world of work ? Having said that I've been a subscriber for about 40 plus years. I wouldn't be without it but you have to take the rough with the smooth. They're even in my will. Nothing major but enough to buy them all a good drink. Between you and me they're not keen on the J word. Public school influence again I suspect. [Post edited 2 Jun 2017 21:47]

The Unions are as much part of the Labour Party as big business are part of the Tories, apart from the fact the Union/Labour link is open, and the funding is transparent, and happens because Union members like myself, give consent for part of our subs to go to the Labour Party. There is a similar, open link between other affiliate organisations and the LP. It should be law that all shareholders get a vote as to whether or not a company donates to a political party.

Not openly. However they will have their say. Anyway the LP leader is now voted by One Member One Vote, no more Union block votes, just each member who pays the affiliation and who committs to being a Labour voter, gets a vote. About 600,000 voted in the LP leadership election, with about 400,000 voting for Corbyn. Len McCluskey got, ONE vote, as did every other TU leader.

Corbyn as Prime Minister on 16:08 - Jun 5 with 1863 views | NorthernDale | I have two leaflets from Labour and two from the Liberal Democrats, and now't from anyone else. I cannot vote for Tony Lloyd, because a vote for him is a vote for Corbyn, and I love this country far too much to see the economy destroyed in the name of a socialist utopia, which as never been achieved any where in the world. Besides after the recent murderous attacks bu Muslim terrorism groups and considering Corbyn, Abbotts and Macdonells support for Terrorist groups, They even tried to stop the group that carried out the attack on the Twin Towers from being banned in the UK. Even worse is that Corbyn said less then two years ago that it was wrong to shoot to kill Terrorist, I know he he as now said that in circumstances he would support shoot to kill, but I cannot trust him, based on his record and combine that with his regressive 1970's failed economic policies, and I fear waking upon Friday with Corbyn as PM. I remember a quote those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat their mistakes and that is what Corbyn represents. So that leaves Andrew Kelly, he is local, but represents pro-EU party which will count against him and Howard, who is a local Lass, but I know absolutely now't about her and Danczuk, who by standing will get his pay off from parliament as a defeated sitting MP

Corbyn as Prime Minister on 19:15 - Jun 5 with 1765 views | NorthernDale | Do you actually think Corbyn has the money to pay for all of his promises, do you not remember the 1970's in which the governments implemented the same policies advocated by Jeremy Corbyn, which left the country bankrupt and begging for the IMF for loan like a beggar asking for money. He as promised everything to everyone without the means to pay for it, look at France, when they introduced the same tax the rich policies the Rich and big business bug*ered off, taking the jobs with them, so the government had to pass the tax rises on the ordinary people, besides borrowing the money, with the knock on effect of high unemployment and economic stagnation. look at Venezuela who Corbyn praised as an inspiration and successful socialist inaction, which after 17 years of Corbyn like policies is now bankrupt, despite once being a wealthy oil rich nation, a country in which people are starving and people are dying in hospitals because they cannot afford medicines to save them. Then you say you are for Corbyn and Labour, then I worry for the future of the country I love with a passion, I do not want to return to the bad old days of a poverty and bankrupt nation thanks to the lefts misguided policies.

Manfesto’s are a waste of time, hardly anything in them ever gets completed. Will the Labour party nationalise the utilities - No they’ll never be able to afford to buy out the shares. It’s a non starter. It’s the important things, the Police, NHS, Education etc which people need to vote on.

You're a generous man, Ming! Although I've had a sub to Private Eye since the 1960s, and derived some amusement and much otherwise unreported information from it, it's never occurred to me to leave them a bequest. What might Keith Hill be in line for? While I don't expect Ian Hislop to be making his tax returns public - he reportedly gets £40k per episode of HIGNFY - the magazine he edits doesn't spare the well-to-do and consistently throws some light into dark corners. But it has its blind spots - including the proles (I hate its 'Yobs' cartoon) and trade union bosses (although some are almost as dodgy as many 'captains of industry'). I don't miss the references to 'pooves', while reports of 'Ugandan discussions' also seem to have gone into the dustbin. I'd guess that politically Hislop is a liberal tory individualist with paternalistic inclinations - of a type that no longer exists, if it ever did.
