He was very patchy tonight. Needs to be told to try and stop crosses. I wouldn't write him off just yet, but I wish we had an option that wasn't 103. Nothing can tarnish this inner glow at the moment anyway. But it's time to stop whining now I suppose. We've got what we've got. |  |

Like when Naughton AGAIN had to switch flanks against Palace when Taylor was getting a roasting. Without him that game we'd have got beat.
He didn't have the best of games but the vitriol above isn't warranted, especially as he's had to help us out when Olson went off.

Chuffed Taylor is gone, but gutted we haven't got rid of naughton, he is a serious weak link in that area. Southampton identified him as the weak area and just kept pumping the ball down that left wing, which is why the swapped him over to the other wing.
He is a coward, shys out of tackles and always WALKS BACKWARDS.
We need to score goals to win games, and while we are doing that we don't need a wimp in defence undoing all our hard work. |  |

Did well in the first half but struggled (or was 'dogsh*t' to be less kind) once they replaced Tadic with Boufal.
Thought Olsson struggled at times too but Southampton have three excellent wingers.
I'm not sure Naughton has been one of our worst performers this season... mind you a RB is a priority in the summer. |  | | |

Painful to watch and feared at what point he would attribute to us conceding a 2nd goal, thankfully it didn't come!
Should be nowhere near the starting 11 and wouldn't look out of place in the lower leagues. Unfortunately we only have a 34yr old with no pace to replace so we're going to have to make do till the end of the season now which is worrying. | | | |

I can forgive a poor performance if the player gives his all and just has an off night.
I was thinking that about Naughton until middle of the second half when it was clear he realised he was having a shocker and instead of pulling his socks up (like Carroll who also had a poor second half but kept on going and going) his demeanour suggested he just couldn't be arsed.
I think he is an ok player at times but dreadfully inconsistent and I wish we had bought a replacement. | | | |
