Can we keep Spurs to single figures? 11:54 - Jan 25 with 2189 viewsBlueStripes

With relegation all over bar the shouting, the only really meaningful game left for our heroes this season is the Spurs game. Spurs will obviously not be fielding a full strength team, so I fancy Col U to be able to hold them to a single figure scoreline. In fact I think we may even get away with only conceding 6 or 7. Of course I may be too optimistic but it should be an entertaining game with plenty of goals at least.

Our big game is Southend away.

Fans will recall how much beating Ipswich eased the pain of our last relegation.

Indeed, I don't see why beating the Shrimpers can't fire up our season and see us head for safety. We have escaped so many times; mid table mediocrity would be boring!

I have already dreamt the score its 1-2......goals scored in the 24th minute via Moncur, Spurs goals both by Dele alli in the 67th and 84th minutes

1-2 col U play a blinder in front of 9,299

Certainly can

I have already called it a 2-2 draw

Moncur and Shorey

Lamela and a late Kane equaliser

Spurs currently in Barcelona on a mid season mini break.

Are our guys back at Colchester yet? I assume they were walking back from Scunthorpe after that debacle.
As far as Saturday next goes I expect the U's to play considerably better than last Saturday and in some way that will disappoint me in that while we won't win the FA Cup we still should be wanting to stay in Div.1.
As you say Durham, Southend in an absolute must win game if only to lift us out of the doldrums we have found us in during the last few months.
Could it be that our recent performances will frighten away possible suitors of our best players ? "Could be a cunning plan".

I haven't done a match report. Too distressing.

Gerry you were brave enough to attend and you have only seen one defeat.

I was unfortunate to beat both Wigan and Burton Albion enough said.

I agree with you I think we will give Spurs a good game and I reallyfancythe U's for a draw.

Whilst Spurs have gone to Barcelona the U's are in Frinton for some culture !

The Spurs game will propel U's to get a result at Roots Hall.

The U's under 21's have beaten Brentford 1-2.

I'd play the under 21's against Spurs reserves and give Keen chance to review them in a First XI fixture before Southend. He seems to be ignoring Vincent-Young at left back who was superb against Sheffield United. OK, we also now have Shorey, but Briggs can't defend. Make Briggs a winger!

I don't see why not a giant-killing, or a bit of a defensive 1-1 with a replay at The Lane.

The money to be made in a replay would help buy a great player or two -- even into League 2 --

Don't even make me dream of a round 5 at the Emirates. My heart can't handle the stress.

No Mr Happy that's your Rams score 2-1 to United

We will secure a 2-2 draw courtesy of a late Harry Kane equaliser!

Can you believe we're actually talking about a giant club like Spurs at the WHCS?

My season is done. League 2, whatever.

Someone, someone, please inbox me. I need a game programme!

Anyone! I'll even pay for Federal Express or UPS.

There's gotta be one of you lot who will send me one. Don't make me go onto Facebook.

I just hope we score. Don't care how many they get.
