The commentators said that he was trying too hard in the first half against Oxford. He was forcing the game a trying to get one of his shots in. I agree. How many times have we complained we arn't shooting enough? In the second half it all fell to bits and we were losing the ball right left and centre. I don't recall his passes going adrift as many of the others. It was not a great performance but very few did play well and he is in good company there at the mo. I need to look at the socks video I guess. |

We may hear that this is the case but to sell him to Newcastle where he is going to do his damnest to keep them up is madness. 5m to Palace would have been better. Don't hold your breath on great replacements coming in either. It seems our scouting staff have gone the same way as the coaching staff. |  |

Yes but the reason for the midfield not firing was largely down to him giving up. Cork tried to compensate but too much to cover him and Grimes (who was at least having a go). He's an England international mind you, the pretender to the Gerrard throne and he couldn't even hurt a league 2 side | |

The type of behaviour that can be expected of a modern footballer, in terms of wanting to move if they didn't rate the manager.. Understandable I suppose if you have aspirations to get to the very top of your profession, especially if the player is an England international.

The Mail is saying we will have to hand over £3.6m - which makes the deal look a bit less helpful to us. Obviously Shelvey had to go soon, though I'm not so keen on selling to Newcastle. | | | |
