Surely worth a punt rather than Gomis??

Naughton = £5m.
Cork = anywhere from £1.5m to £3m depending upon who you believe.
Ayew = £5m signing fee minimum. Maybe more.
Tabanou = £3m
Eder = £5m
Nordfelt = undisclosed but unlikely to be less than £1m.

So even the best case scenario takes you to £20m just on fees, never mind signing bonuses (players you pay a fee for still get those, just not as big) and wages. Total package cost for all six players over the course of their contracts would comfortably take us past £30m. Probably closer to £40m.

You're bang on when you say that Austin is terrible value for the kind of price QPR want though, which is obvious when you look at the lack of serious interest in him.

Nice bit of mis-direction with the increased wage bill, nothing on the decreases since Bony went.

Add in a host of youngsters that left and those on loan.
Plus of course Bony's wages.

Oh so we can't afford to buy Austin for 8 million?

The club could afford to buy Austin for £40m. But it would involve taking on debt, committing future income and wouldn't guarantee success or survival on its own.

He's an average footballer with injury concerns and wouldn't be an upgrade on Gomis imo. If we want to piss away £8m we've got a few stands that could use expansion.

Do any of you saying that we can't afford to pay £8M for a Striker actually believe that wa Can't afford NOT TO?
Do you also belive that the way things are going that Eder and Tabanou will still be here after January?

We paid out the majority of the balance of Michu and Tiendalli's contracts. They wouldn't have agreed otherwise. There's no meaningful saving there.

Dyer is a chunk off the bill, but Ayew alone is getting paid at least twice what Nathan was on.

Cornell and Donnelly were on peanuts relative to senior players.

Bony's wages weren't too bad (coming from Holland) until he signed the new deal in November that removed his release clause and allowed us to get a few more million out of City.

Cork and Naughton get Premier League money. Eder and Tabanou aren't far off. Nordfeldt isn't a bad deal for a backup, but then we took on Tremmel for another year.

Most of those players were identified as being necessary by GM (plus 2 more he didn't get) after the Spanish exidus before Bony left .
How would the club have paid for them all if Bony had not left?

Yes of course we can afford not to. Or are you saying that without an £8m striker we will be relegated

"Do you also belive that the way things are going that Eder and Tabanou will still be here after January? "

Yes unless of course someone is going to come in and buy them.

If anyone came in to Eder & Tabanou, what do you think they would pay for players that 1 has played in the Prem. a few minutes in half a season and 1 that has not played at all?
As for relegation, you seem to be forgetting on very very important fact, not only is relegation looming with our current performance, but for every place we lose this season we lose, what £1.0 to £1.5M, 8 places = £8.0M to £12M.
So anything below 10th is throwing money down the drain, because if you buy a player he still has some worth at the end of the season.
Lost places is just staighforward lost CASH, you can't get much more short sighted than that.

Isn't it a case that most of the earnings for places goes into the player bonuses? Sure I've read that somewhere before

Of course people are unlikely to pay for Eder or Tabanou, that was kind of mu point though

Still don't believe that relegation is looming though, you won't convince me on that front at this point in time

How do you still not realise that the Bony money (most of which we have still not actually received) has already been spent on players?

Naughton, Cork, Ayew, Tabanou, Eder, Nordfeldt is easily £25-30m in outgoings since last January.

Naughton 5 million
Cork 1.5 million with a further 1.25 million at the end of this season
Tabanou 3.2 million
Eder 4.45 million
Nordvelt 3 million.

About 15 million, yes there are wages with that.
These are officially declared transfer figures.

Your maths are wonky. That's nearer 20 than 15.

Add on signing-on fees and Ayew and you're at £25m easy.

It is you who has wonky maths, it actually comes to £17.15M, which is not nearer £20M

18.4

Half those figures are rough conversions from Euros, and some officially are 'undisclosed'. I wouldn't place much faith in them tbh.

I do not know where you get 18.4 from as it certainly is not from the numbers posted.
It is pretty mute anyway as almost half of it appears to have been wasted on 2 inadequate players.
We could have probably got 2 players from the lower divisions for about £1M each, as you don't need too much footballing skill to polish benches do you?

Tell The FA then, and have a source or two to confirm it.
Seeing as you have other information and additional paperwork, inc euro GB currency issues, you should get on it straight away. Your obviously inferring the club is corrupt.

I'd like to throw £2million into the positive pot ... Napoli paid us for loaning Michu.

It's just the internet, init.

I'd buy him in a heartbeat for 8m.He'd be brilliant here and the right club for him at this time in his career. The guy is an out and out goalscorer at every level he's played and still relatively young. No brainer for me.

He's 26 and if we're being serious about staying up and knocking on, it's what we are going to have to do sooner or later.I wouldn't fancy Gomis or Eder leading our line next season. We get rid of one or both and buy a new striker(s).Austin would be a great start and 8m is good value for a proven PL goalscorer.

26 ?I'm sure someone said he was thirty ,in that case 8 mill it is then in January , ,but he won't want to be on the bench that goes for Eder not to mention Gomis , Huston we have a problem

Was hoping to see Austin on Sky Sports tonight, but he is out with a 'minor calf injury'. It doesn't look to me as if QPR have a lot up front in his absence.

114 goals in -214 professional games, 26 and hasn't played for a club who makes chances like we do.
