Who? Oldham?

Both teams to be honest. Keith Hill cannot be happy with the way we're passing the ball at the minute and the lack of chances we're creating.

You won't get a better chance than Alessandra had. Which was the result of two great passes from Lund then Cannon. Henderson and Mendez-Laing also had half decent chances.

Oldham were negative but we got a bit impatient in the second half. Alessandra scores early and it's a different game.

Exactly this! Alessandra scores that sitter and its a game changer. Unbelievable he managed to even get it over the bar from so close.

There's a definite lack of quality around not only our passing but our decision making. It wasn't terrible today, but not was it that great.

Lancashire's lack of confidence on the ball is apparent and players ahead of him don't do much to help to give an option in midfield. We're not conceding but we're still suffering by not playing the best players at the back. The opposition let them have it knowing it'd get floated out to the wing.

Cannon has five yellows now so that's a suspension and I think Allen is on four. Hill is on GMR talking about the ref whistling too much. We want to stop giving him an opportunity to do just that.

I feel robbed of £17 pound.

Cannot believe how awful that was.

One of the worst derbies in living memory.

Why has Lancashire decided that he's our playmaker?

We had three very good chances today and six or seven on Tuesday. Wasn't a great game but not seeing much to be worried about really. Oldham came for a point and got it simple as that.

A flat performance against a very poor latics. Giving away daft free kicks means there is no flow to the game, suiting the opposition. Nothing wrong with the refs perfornance, it was both teams who where crap.

Its another point in the bag and maybe tiredness played a part, its been a tough week. A feeling of frustration because Oldham are the worst team to visit Spotland this season.

Woohoo.

No red cards

No sendings off

No injuries

We didn't lose 3-0

Derbies do not suit our passing game. We looked more threatening when Calvin came on.

More than happy with all of that, seen us get thrashed when playing our usual style enough

We are a poor side mate. Staying up will once again be an achievement. Frustrating as this league is so poor.

I didn't go today but everytime I've seen Dale they've been a good striker away from challenging seems the case today.

Our "lethal" goalscoring dept is really starting to p**s me off now. Can"t see us finishing any higher than we are now, Possibly lower. You can"t win matches if you don't score.

Wasn't at the game and I don't think I would ever pay to watch a game against Oldham. Terrible football team, negative tactics and the bore draw specialists of league one. Deserve to be a league two/non league but will keep on getting enough jammy draws to finish 16/17th every season just like they've done for the last 450 years.

Derbies might not suit our passing game but there are so many of them that we need a plan B.
Plan B cannot be rolling it around the back four for Lancashire to eventually lollipop one up to one of their centre halves to head away.

Accurate from a purely technical point of view, but surely no-one can be happy, let alone more than happy, with what we witnessed today. Some of our petty fouls, decision-making and tactics bordered on amateurish.

It's an obvious point to make about goals changing games and Alessandra will (or should) be having nightmares about that miss long after his career has ended.

Regarding tactics, setting up a formation with Alessandra isolated, Vincenti unfit and Allen woefully out of place on the right is also inviting the opposition into the game rather than taking it to them. As others have said, we looked a different prospect once Andrew and Mendez-Laing were introduced.

No MoM today from me, although those two subs could probably share it. And last but not least, Lancashire continues to provide the lack of confidence and solidity which affects the rest of the team. I was expecting something really positive today but our tactics and simple errors have made for a sense of deflation.

Agreed with the opening post, we are playing to negatively. No one seems to want to run at players apart from Mendez-laing,
We look like we are set up not to conceed and if we snatch a winner its a bonus.
It's not good to watch and will not get paying supporters to return.
Yes Hilly's job is to get results but as supporters we want to be entertained and to leave at the end of the game saying "I enjoyed that, i'll be back next week"

It was a poor game today which should be expected as Derby matches very rarely see much good football played. We did look a little toothless at times, but I think it is more down to poor decision making and hesitating to make the pass and wanting the extra touch. On the plus side a third clean sheet in a row, although Oldham weren't much of a threat from open play. Take the point and move on to next week.

The rest of the weekends entertainment should be due from Barnsley, lost at home to Fleetwood today and now in the bottom four........ Cue the annual manager replacement?

Yeah, what is this obsession with Allen playing out wide all of a sudden (though to be fair it was the left for the first half)? He's a better player than Camps because he can dictate a game rather than impact it sporadically, there should be little choice when it comes to straight between the two for a central position. In fact, Camps would properly offer more from a wide area than Allen.

It's getting to the point with Lancashire where I wonder if I'm being unfair, but it's safe to say many others see the same issues. The main thing now is that the player himself would probably from a break, you can sense how unsure he is.

One more thing, set plays: It's no coincidence we're not conceding having binned the zonal marking, but why when the opposition get a free kick do we always seem to leave a man left over out wide. It happened when Jones missed that simple header, then again not long after when the delivery was shocking. It's possible to see from he stand yet the players aren't actually managing the situation.

My concern is how ponderous we have become breaking from the back. Last season we used to charge up the pitch; now it takes half a dozen back passes to Josh before we even get to the halfway line. Cannon used to storm up the wing (bit of poetic licence but you know what I mean).
I can't put my finger on what has changed.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

I have great respect for Allen as one of our brightest prospects (and he's still a prospect, a fair way from the finished article) but handing him the captaincy is one thing; maybe he is an old head on young shoulders. Sticking him out wide away from the main areas of action then mitigates against him being able to bring captaincy on the pitch into the reckoning. Your point about the players not being able to organise themselves at set pieces brings this to the fore. Even though Allen comes back to defend, he's not got the experience to see what someone like McNulty should see. If he does, it's not getting through. Hendo should also be more instrumental in terms of leadership. Unfortunately, he too had a game to forget today.

In short, there's a lack of leadership out on the pitch, and it shows. Hilly admits he's sometimes too hard on the players, so perhaps this makes them reluctant to take decisions during the game to change things for fear of being seen to go against his instructions.

In the second half their big lummox was left completely unmarked at the back post, fortunately the delivery from the set piece was bad.

Someone mentioned it after the Bury game - there's a lack of carrying the ball through midfield at the moment. We used to break with a short ball to the likes of Allen who would then have the ball in their half with options running off him.

Lack of pace up front. For me, Mendez-Laing should be starting every game now. He's very comfortable on the ball, has the physicality to intimidate even big defenders and has real pace for a big fella. Oh, and he's got real footballing intelligence too.
