Ramsey 17:10 - May 2 with 6715 views | Gloucs_R | Couldn't pick his own nose let alone a decent starting xi. Knew we'd lose once I saw 4 CBs and 3 Dms starting. Should not been given the job, proved nothing.

Ramsey on 18:21 - May 2 by paulparker | Yep fully deserved Chubbs We have been rank , Fcuk Bagpuss the blame is with TF on this one How many more lessons need to be learnt before it finally clicks with this chump We should have been in for Deeney , Wilson , Afobe, Wells after Remy went , instead we got fatty kranjker , We bought a has been in Rio ,to go with Hill & Dunne sold our only RB with no cover Bought a dud in Sandro with no knees for 10 million yes 10 million, sold a million loss on a decent prospect in Mutch, got Zarate in on 65k a week and played him for 15 minutes before trying to give him back We've had 3-5-2 , diamonds & Xmas pudding formations before going with 4-4-2 Wimbledon style Then we had the embarrassment of Tony declaring his dream manager before plumbing for nice guy Chris A total Fcuk up since the preseason and yet some cretins still chant "tony fernades" I'd love Warburton here but I wouldn't trust fernades to get it right ,this pre season is the clubs most important but TF will Fcuk it up, it' will be 4 years since he bought the club this year and yet we are in Worse state than we ever was No training ground, no youngsters , no new stadium , just absolute false promises and incompetence So forget the disallowed goals the injuries the missed pens we are in this sh1t because we stink from boardroom to dugout |

Ramsey on 18:21 - May 2 by stuabd | The reality is that Villa have some good players. They have pace in their team. Pace. I can't see how Sherwood would have done much better. Better but not enough to save us. The other teams round us have actually gone out and outplayed their opponents in recent matches. Something we haven't done for the whole season. Even games like Sunderland away could easily have gone the other way. We're shoite. |
We have pace in certain areas, just that for whatever reason Ramsey hasnt gone for it. We needed the points, we needed to go for every game yet he started EVERY game with a "dont lose" attitude. Also, how many of the posters in this thread have the same IP address? Seems to be a lot of trolls. My view is that TF has screwed up again. We need a full time Chairman but I am not calling for him to walk away.

Ramsey on 23:50 - May 2 with 1799 views | loftus77 | Nothing against the guy - is probably a very good coach - just as Terry Connor has been for Mick McCarthy at play-off bound Ipswich. But a truly, terrible, disgraceful decision to appoint him as our 'manager' - clearly the club gave up at the end of January.
Ramsey on 00:05 - May 3 with 1761 views | baz_qpr | They made a call not to spend money in January, I'm guessing cos there is none left, they could not get themselves into another FFP scenario of paying big money to get players in and then having the wages against the p and l in the Championship. I think I heard somewhere that Sherwood new Villa was coming, I think he would have been the wrong man for us anyway. The "dream" manager was Paul Clement according to most of the Journos who is looking to kick of his managerial career in the summer. Me - I thought we might be down at Christmas, and certainly were down barring a miracle on the 31st Jan before saggy chops walked. What Barton said the other day was very true we came up the worse team by some distance and we are going down the same. We needed 75% of our signings to come good and most of them have been a disaster particularly Caulker and Sandro. The failure to buy a striker in the last 3 windows has been a particularly bad decision. I had a lot of good will for Ramsey but that went with the West Ham game. I think the football under him whilst more organised is pretty awful, he had a bad hand but he played it badly as well. This summer is massive, get it wrong, lose too many players, have too many youth and we could drop straight through. Losing Barton and Austin and Probably Phillips too leaves us very very weak. We will need to get 75% of our signings right and again we are left having to acquire an entire team in one transfer window

Ramsey on 00:20 - May 3 with 1724 views | DejR_vu | He's won two out of twelve. There's not a great deal of margin to have done worse. Not his fault though. Poor appointment by a novice DoF, appointed by a clueless chairman as a PR exercise.

Ramsey on 00:26 - May 3 with 1709 views | baz_qpr | The logic was always to see where we would be in the summer with a whole load more options, once Sherwood was gone who else was there hence the caretaker role rather than being given it properly

Likable guy... been working with the dregs of what harry has left... had a number of injuries and suspensions to key players (i.e dunne, fer, barton)...has the players playing for him (unlike harry) people say his our home form has been crap under him... so far at home under ramsy we have played Southampton - beat 1-0 with a goal in the 93rd minute... tough loss arsenal - beat 2-1 .. 0-0 until sandro replaced by kranjar... Spurs - beat 2-1 ... no penalty for isla, no penalty for bentaleb handling austin shot Everton - beat 2-1... taarabh strikes bar in injury time chelsea - beat 1-0 .... poor kick out and caught out what can I say west ham draw 0-0 ... missed penalty and disallowed goal what can I say we were in all them games 1 point is bad but realistically we were in all the games until the end, and I expected more especially from the everton match. but its not like we were playing all the teams around us like we were under harry. Realistically I am not sure how to judge ramsey on these games but I do think he deserves a run a it next year... I think looking back on it the 2 games which stick out most are the 2 games against hull.. 1st game of the season charlie missed a penalty hull win 1-0 then away to hull barton sent off and hull score in the 89th minute... even more so than the liverpool game at home

Finally, a few facts. We didn't deserve to get up into this division, we've had an awful bunch of signings, and guess what, we are going down. I don't think Chris has done any worse than anyone could have done with this bunch.

Ramsey on 04:02 - May 3 with 1603 views | daveB | must be in a minority of one but I didn't think the starting line up was that bad and thought we played quite well today, deserved a point at the very least. OK it's not enough but relying on needing to win at anfield was always a long shot. Hindsight is wonderful etc, plenty on here screaming for Ramsey to get the job after the Sunderland win and very few wanted Sherwood. Lets be honest, every game was a must win when Ramsey took over and we have been far too cautious. He had Yun, but picked Hill God knows where Zarate and Adel are, at a time when we need goals Zamora is a 60 min player every 2-3 games yet gets picked every week where possible Oh well, back to the Championship and at least the excitement of a bunch of new players. Looking forward to seeing Diakite next season again

Ramsey on 11:08 - May 3 with 1354 views | PunteR | I don't blame Ramsey for getting relegated. He's taken responsibility for TF and Redknapps mess and fair play to him for that. He's made mistakes but he's also got things right as well. Injury's haven't helped him or individual errors which Ramsey can do nothing about. The squad of players are just not good enough for the premier league, simple as that. When joey Barton is your star player most weeks your in trouble. Ramsey is not a premier league manager but we're not a premier league club. Maybe we do need a big character to take this club by the scruff of the neck and get it sorted. Ramsey isn't that man, nor is TF. Change at the very top is needed.

Ramsey on 11:42 - May 3 with 1310 views | rsonist | Ramsey has been dealt an awful hand but he hasn't played it with much nous either. I bear him no ill will though. Sherwood may or may not have kept us up but even with the Prem money rolling in we'd still be building on sand when foundations are needed. Sherwood flatly refused any trial period with us - it was either a long contract all in or nothing - and credit to him for being confident but that was a familiar path we'd have been unwise to take. IMO Sherwood was the right man for Villa - they have structure after Lambert but needed an ego boost - but for us I think it would have been a toxic relationship that would have brought the worst out in each other. At the end of the day if you want to build something long term you have to be prepared to suffer in the short term. Simple as that. It was never just about keeping us up this season.

Seeya in the championship gents.

Agree with that but I thought Austin and Phillips were average at best and Ned obviously had moments of madness. When Yun came on he added pace but struggled defensively and was turned over by physical strength on at least one occasion. Isla wasn't on the bench so I assume he was injured, Zarate similar. Limited options again but if you can go and play open football against these teams from the start then you risk another Palace away. I thought we had all found that out! Btw we weren't that negative yesterday, we were on top in the first 15-20 mins until they scored and I think we had three early corners. I thought Fer was decent.
