As per usual more talk from uncle tone , he gave the same interview in the daily mail last week
A few things that made me laugh
We need to do things properly !!?? , so what have you been doing the last 4 years then & why now are we going to start again , it's like now we are Saying we are going for plan D
Why did you let josh Laurent go , why did you yet again trust a load of charlatans to run this club into the ground ??
As for tone being an accountant I wouldn't trust him with my kids savings accounts
I know he is a nice bloke blah, blah blah,
But are people really going to swallow another dose of Tony's bullsh1t

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Fair enough, but, this is slightly different. Ferdinand, Ramsey, Doughty, Furlong are a "fork in the ground".

Yes, as always he is saying what he thinks we want to hear, but, if as a result he does give Les and Ramsey some time at the job, then that has to be positive for the club.

The test will be if we go down of course.

I thought the mail piece was better actually, the torygraph piece could have been cobbled together from LCI it was the same quotes etc, obviously done right before or after that.

The main thing we learnt that was new is that Tony knows Paul Clement well

Agree with les & Ramsey being a start
But if we go down which is looking likely how long does tone give the revolution
Because let's face it , it's going to be a huge rebuilding job next season and we could spend the next couple of seasons a mid table championship team
How long will tone give it before he appoints an experienced man to get us back up to the land of milk & honey and back to the root of all our problems
The bloke can't stick to anything, we have had 4 years of this now

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Thing is Fernandes doesn't know how to pick a good manager, he needs to take a trip down the road and ask Brentford's chairman for advice.

I agree.

I'm also sceptical that he has truly learnt his lessons but what else do we expect him to say???

It's universally accepted that up until now things have been a complete shambles and he did repeat some mistakes.

I know the proof will be in the pudding but you have to start somewhere and the recent changes are a fork in the ground.

I genuinely believe that however naive he's been, his intentions have been good and I'd be inclined to believe him at this point. My gut tells me his word is more honourable than Redknapps that's for sure

He is too generous. He is giving off the perception that Ramsey might even keep his job if we go down, instead of saying the opposite. No way should Ramsey be given the job if we go down. Ramsey should revert back to his coaching role.

Possibly. I think if we lose every game from now then of course you're right. If we go down only just and with with a real fight, with youngsters getting settled into the team then maybes Ramsey should still be considered .

I think the point point is considered, if I'm going to believe he's changed, what I expect to see is a full diligent selection process

Well the Bees beat Bournemouth 3-1 yesterday so things aren't that bad. That chairman has secured land for their stadium and has set aside £100m for its redevelopment. They also have decent training facilities.

A chairman who owns the club, is a life long Brentford fan and has the club at heart.

Hoping things really are different this time.

It all reads well and mirrors what was said on LCI by Tony and Les. And it's true we've heard it before. The difference, I'm starting to believe is that the actions are backing up the talk. Les came across very well, with clear ideas of the way forward. The lack of (unnecessary?) activity in the transfer window coupled with the introduction of Doughty and Furlong point the way. Even the trip to Dubai is likely to include 7/8 youngsters. Ramsey talks a far more positive view than Redknapp has done for 2 years.

The real proof is what happens between now and May. Will we stay up? Will we continue to give the youngsters a chance? Will there be any solid developments on Warren Farm and/or OOC?

He's made tons of mistakes - but it's very rare for new owners anywhere to get everything right straight away. Daniel Levy gets metaphorically fellated on here by some particularly regularly, but it took him years to become the operator he is now in football - with huge spending and loads of bad mistakes with grounds, managers, transfer fees along the way, with virtually nothing to show for it all.
Josh Laurent situation has been dealt with already, if you can't be bothered to keep up, your criticisms can look silly or hollow.
I share your frustration, I'm not a Tony happy clapper, I don't sing his name at the ground (I wouldn't for any chairman, to be honest), and I agree his talk needs to be backed up with actions. Hopefully it will. He's backed managers better than any other chairman in our history - I think that's worth a little something.

Bare bones.

Interesting piece in the Grauniad on the Brentford chairmen (professional gambler / financier) and the experiment he is conducting there and in Denmark running the clubs, buying players and even influencing half time team talks with his Danish team (who are top of the Danish league) with mathamatical models and "big data" computer algorithms. Be interesting see how that all pans out

I accept it takes new owners to the game a while to adjust ,
but its 4 years now and he keeps repeating the same cra p , keeps making the same mistakes time after time after time ,
Yes the Josh Laurent situation as been done , But TF bought that up in his interview which is why I made reverence to it
its his job to know what's going on at this club is it not ?
if it is he should know why we have let one of our best youngsters go , not keep saying we are going to learn by our mistakes and it wont happen again
he is the one who employed the last 2 chancers , he is the one who authorised the purchases of Rio Ferdinand, Ceaser, Boswinger , Park, Barton, SWP etc
he is the one who let the club be run into the ground ,
he spouts on about being an accountant but we are 170 million odd in debt
say what you will about Levy or Ashley but they get the best for their club when it comes to deals etc, can you really trust TF to sell Austin for the right price when the time comes ?
yes TF is a nice bloke I want to trust him I want to believe he has our best interests at heart, but his past clusterfcks and moronic tvveeting tell me he is the frank spencer of football chairman
the proof is in the pudding , and we will see what happens , but if we go down and are getting beat by Rotherham with a bunch of kids don't be surprised to see TF appoint big fat sam and say we need instant PL football
the bloke cannot stick to anything

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore
