Season ticket v Steward 11:05 - Feb 8 with 16934 views | shandyjack | I leant my season ticket to my grandfather like I always do when I'm away in Lindon with work and never Ben an issue, yesterday though some woman steward decided to confiscate it off him. Anyone else ever have this issue? [Post edited 8 Feb 2015 19:45]

Season ticket v Steward on 18:06 - Feb 8 by EvenThisNameIsTaken | Registered just to say this - I assume it's going to be popular but I find the personal abuse headed towards the stewards is OTT. You all seem to be under the wrong impression that buying a season ticket gives you ownership rights over the seat. Imagine a rental vehicle which you have rightly purchased being lent out to others to use despite the terms of the agreement - the car hire company would rightly take back the vehicle! So because you didn't read the terms & conditions, you get personal, calling the steward fat and a c*nt!?! And people wonder why less people are coming on this site?! Premier league outfit with second division class supporters at times! People need to adjust their bad attitudes! And to clarify - I do not work at the club, nor am I a steward. I have however travelled to numerous stadia around the country and this is a common practice! As a season ticket holder, you are responsible for the ticket - you are also checked and your details are on file at the stadium (as other clubs would also have to adhere to law enforcement etc). Why would the stadium allow free transfer of purchased season tickets, just for some idiot to give theirs to a banned nutcase for instance??! I thought PhilS would have known better!! |
If you or happysteward or the club or stadco or whoever it is are enforcing the rules in the way it seems happened yesterday, then the collective you are going the right way about alienating us fans They may be the rules (but aside from flagrant and obvious breaches) surely a blind eye is the right decision, the decision that is in the best spirit (if not the letter of the law) Hate hearing stories like this about 'my' club | ![](/images/avatars/9149.gif) |

FFS - Like banging my head against a wall! Rules are rules. Don't go crying if you're pulled up for breaking the rules. There are, despite your protestations, logical and reasonable reasons why the stadium (and any other stadium) will enforce these!! | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

Season ticket v Steward on 18:17 - Feb 8 by EvenThisNameIsTaken | Strange indeed. As you clearly haven't read the Terms & Conditions for the last several season at least. Season ticket is 'non-transferable' and all.... strange indeed! Being a season ticket holder myself - I've seen these checks being done in the past. The first person to spot the issue is the turnstile operator who then calls the steward at the gate. You purchase your season ticket on the basis you agree to abide by the stadium terms & conditions - if you don't then why should they continue to provide you the facility (season ticket). It's all fair at the end of the day. And just because you haven't seen this done in the past doesn't mean it's a 'new thing'. Some people need to get a grip on reality here! |
So if you purchased a couple of top £70 tickets for a concert at the Millenium stadium, and the week before the concert you couldn't make it, would you just throw them in the bin or resell them? Honest answer please. | ![](/images/avatars/11048.gif) |

Ever hear of ticket touting being made illegal? Not necessarily copies sold by ticket touts, but instead tickets sold illegitimately and without the consent of the organiser or club. In my opinion, and being an honest answer, if someone wants to buy the tickets off me then it's their risk to take in the event they aren't allowed entry and the tickets are confiscated. if I was thinking of giving them to family or friends however, I'd call before hand to make sure there won't be any problems as I wouldn't want to waste the time of family/friends. You may have been lucky up until you're discovered as using someone elses ticket. Luck ends at some point - now the club are aware you're in breach of their conditions. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

So how does the turnstile operator spot this say if my brother in law went in on my ticket yesterday Or for years how did he fail to spot my daughter going in on my wifes season ticket Well aware of what the terms and conditions say but considering it has been actively encouraged by the club before they introduced ticket exchange it is perfectly natural for people to be a little hacked off and rightly so And how did this said steward notice the OAP in question on Saturday? | ![](/images/avatars/8594.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Exactly if there were obvious breaches (say an adult trying to use a concession ticket) then fair enough but like or like or the opposite way around then blind eyes should be turned Clearly though the stewards were given an instruction yesterday to do something different - a bit like they did in the night game a few years back until we(Trust) intervened after the event and common sense prevailed Incidentally standing is also against the terms and conditions of the stadium so blind eyes are appropriate when it makes logical sense to do so | ![](/images/avatars/8594.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

I agree with Dynfant though, adults should be stopped from going in as concessions but not the other way round. I guess they want people who can't go to sell the tickets back to them so thry can resell rather than giving it to a mate |
That only comes into force if game is a sellout. As long as it's anyone using a full price adult ticket then what's the issue? | ![](/images/avatars/8746.gif) |

Wrong. Several times in this thread it has been mentioned that the letter of the rule says that STs are not transferable (it is written on the back of them after all). What people are saying is that it seems a pointless, petty rule and one that has not been applied for as long as I remember (been going for ~8 yrs). Unless of course his grandad was armed with a suicide belt and pair of Uzis? Personal abuse is out of order, agreed. | ![](/images/avatars/9866.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Season ticket v Steward on 19:00 - Feb 8 with 1558 views | Newhousemustscore | For a number if years 2 friends of mine have only been able to make it to half the games each so they buy one season ticket and share it between them and they split the price and work out which games they can do as the season goes on. If they couldn't do this then they would never have bought a season each and for years there would have been an empty seat by us. Are the club now saying they are wrong to do this and that seat should have remained empty since 2005 (when we weren't filling the stadium) rather than breaking Terms and Conditions? There are rules, but there is also common sense... And someone somewhere doesn't have any. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Season ticket v Steward on 19:07 - Feb 8 with 1527 views | AJ101 | I'm guessing the main reason for the tickets being non-transferable is to enforce the banning orders and such that were introduced after the Taylor report, if there isn't such a rule then you could keep "giving" your ticket to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to get one. The non-transferable clause is so that the season ticket can be taken away from you if the person who you gave the ticket to acts like a fukwit. It shouldn't be to stop transfers to friends and family I've been doing this infrequently for years and know of others that do at other clubs in various leagues and never personally known anyone to be called up on it, unless it's a an away supporter, non-concessionary person going in on a concessionary ticket or a banned person it shouldn't be enforced like this IMO, as someone said it's a good way to alienate supporters. | ![](/images/avatars/16422.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Thank you that is exactly what I was looking for from the previous thread thought is was with the season ticket Any general written communication to say casual transfer OK without permission supersede these rules linked to Also if you want to upgrade ST to a higher category the ticket office will issue an upgraded ticket on payment of the upgrade fee (and they would hold the season ticket until after the match). They also issued written confirmation of this..... UPGRADING TICKETS: For all full-price season packages the upgrade fee from a concession to a full-price ticket will be £17.50 on Category B fixtures and £22.50 on Category A fixtures. The number of upgrades will be unlimited. Read more at http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/ticket-exchange-scheme-1847006.aspx#VmRC No mention of any required action for non concession here even though general upgrade title They also would issue a ticket of the same category in place of the season ticket if you wanted to pass your ticket on but did not want to give them your season ticket. Not sure if they still do that. Also interesting those T&Cs don't seem to have applicable effective date on them perhaps they are saying they are the current T&C's but when did they come into effect did the club meet their duties in drawing to the attention of ST holders any significant changes in the rules and / or the way they are policed. But as said any general written communication to say casual transfer OK without permission supersede these rules Also agree about any abuse but please don't lets have the rubbish about knowing who is sat in the seat because anyone can buy open sale tickets and give them to anyone. Or are season ticket holders less trust worthy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Swansea city not just another football club - one who will mug a grandad in direct contradiction of its written operating requirements | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
