Nathaniel Clyne's move to Liverpool has been put into doubt with the news that the Red's are looking at an italian right back.
The right back in question is Atalanta's Davvide Zappacosta who was part of the Italy U21 side that beat England's U21's earlier this week.
Zappacosta who ha recently turned 23 has apparently impressed Brendan Rodgers who is believed to be making a bid for his services.
This throws a cloud over Clyne's move to Liverpool, Zappacosta is looking to force his way into the full Italian side so will want to play regularly and it will mean that if Rodgers lands both, then one will be disappointed by May 2016 and probably not going to the Euro's
The big question is whether Clyne himself will be so keen to join Liverpool if he has such high quality competition for his place, he is at a crucial stage of his career and he cannot afford to follow former team mates Lallana, Lovren & Lambert into footballing limbo.
Perhaps this will not affect the potential transfer, however I dont think Clyne will be very happy if Zappacosta pops up at Anfield a few weeks later.
