Just looked up old Sammy di Carmine, had a semi-decent career in Serie B and just signed for Cremonense, newly promoted to Serie A. 99 league goals he's scored, haven't the foggiest how.
I really thought Ishmael Miller had something in that Leicester game - it was like having a fit Lukaku roaring around the Championship terrifying the life out of defenders.
di Carmine was a kid with us, thrown in with no help. Wasn't as bad as Clive makes out imo. Felt for him a bit.
Bare bones.

Samba Diakite, lunatic legend. Fantastic goal against Arsenal in that late season run of home wins that kept us up. So pleased like most others I suspect when we secured his signature in the following close season. And that ‘cameo’ against Fulham. 😂

When we bought him after that loan spell I thought we had the new Patrick Viera, was so excited about him

Here's Nutt's solitary goal for us - not sure of the game. Debuted at 16, did his cruciate a few weeks later, and that was that for his pro career, sadly, after which he became a taxi driver. As he said himself, these days he'd be out for 6-9 months tops.
That was against Derby in a 1-1 draw.
Without the injury there would have been many others & possibly would have stopped the signing of Peter Eastoe (who I liked, but many didn't).

Danny Westwood. One appearance and one goal-aganst Leicester I think, in the disallowed Phil Parkes "goal" match although I may be wrong on the latter point..
It certainly was in the same match. A 4-2 win on Boxing Day 1974

Shaun Wright-Phillip's only QPR goal came against Chelsea at that shithole in West London.
I remember Northern barracking QPR in the previous match report after they'd phoned in the last three matches with stinking results before adding rather ironically "they'll go and beat Chelsea now".

Beat me to it, still one of my favourite last minuters that one. Great train home.
I wasvat Grimsby where he managed to convert from a yard out onto an empty net. I was convinced he'd miss.
