Who will be watching? First one kicks off in 24 hours time.
The Democrats have pulled Joe back from his campaign trail recently to get him prepared, so hopefully it will be a decent exchange.
Unfortunately they don’t seem to have great confidence as they have spent the last month looking for any dirt they can dig up so Joe can use if he gets stuck.
It’s no coincidence that this vote influencing Facebook algorithm story is being shamelessly and inaccurately made into a race issue on the eve of the debates. So transparent and disingenuous, it’s a shame politics has come to this on this level where black people are being used in this way to score political points. I would be furious if I was them, but it does seem a lot of people are not falling for this one and calling it out for what it is.
People finally seem to be getting wise to this political race baiting which is refreshing to see.
It’s also telling that in the week of the debate they try and paint Trump as a tax evasion offender. I think that’s what they wanted the tax returns to show, they seem to have got annoyed when it turns out his tax returns were fine in accordance to what his companies profits were - but decided to run with it anyway. Any news is good news in their mind as it’s another thing Joe can use when in a tricky spot.
But I hope the discussions remain political and doesn’t turn into some form of gossip peddling reality TV episode.
Although I think there should be some kind of drinking game involved if it does turn that way, how many times Biden completely loses his thread of thought and blurts out “I mean, think about it...” you have to take a shot.
I will be watching with great interest anyway.

Yeah, lucky "Honest" Donald was in the other corner
Only on the likes of Breitbart. Every other media source suggests Trump lied, misinformed and exaggerated to a far greater extent. Not that Biden did not say a few porkies either. But to suggest Biden was more dishonest is laughable and one eyed.

On the radio earlier I heard the debate described as a disgrace for the USA, I don't think either side can really claim any high ground.
It's the Bojo v Corbyn thing again, which one is least bad!
If the Americans thought this was bad they should tune into "live from Westminster" one day, it's quite commonto have shouting, name calling and childish behaviour from our great and good!

He works for FOX yes, he is well known as an outlier. He is a registered Democrat.
There were major concerns about his impartiality coming into the debates, I ignored them as didn’t think anyone would have the nerve to be biased acting as moderator on such a world stage.
It seems those fears were absolutely justified, he even joined in with Biden in mocking Trump at one point, it was embarrassing.

You're full of it. He got to do this debate because he was perceived to have done a good job in 2016. You are getting the excuses in early.

That is absolutely the case Catty. A ‘shit show’ was the main description. I know people who are moderates on both sides and no one was happy. But the end result suited Biden and the media is full of the Proud Boys. Biden did not win, but Trump came away the loser

It looks like that nice Mr Biden lied 33 times to the American people during that 90 minute debate, averaging one every 3 minutes. I expect it was because his memory failed him.
From what I have read, a number of sources who have done the checking have said Trump told a lot more untruths than Biden.

Yes. You are right. Although many are the same repeated hundreds of times. The count originated in the Washington Post- they also fact check both sides with Pinocchios. Biden is rather more prone to exaggeration and misdirection than Obama, but really is lower leagues compared to Trump’s Champions League level of porkies.

You know for a fact that he does have dementia?
Are his medical records a matter of public record or are you a mental health consultant who can diagnose remotely?
I have known people with dementia and he has dementia. Everyone who has ever had any dealings with somebody suffering with dementia can see it. You really are into the realms of arguing that the sky is not blue (an argument that is possible to make but everybody knows to be false).
...and by the way, I am basing my opinion on a combination of experience and what I see before me with my own eyes. What are you basing your belief that Trump called dead soldiers in graves "suckers and losers" on? Don't bother answering because I already know the answer, sweet F.A.
The fact that everybody knows that the Democrats are repeatedly telling massive whoppers is the reason why they will lose this election. Because people have stopped listening. All they had to do to beat Trump is stay calm, remain dignified and aim centre. This was presumably why Biden was picked, because he is the last one left that the general public think of in those terms...but hiding behind grandpa and pretending your in the centre when we can all see what the Democrats have been up to these last 4 years really is the cherry on top, a fraud, a masquerade.

When have I commented on Trump talking about dead soldiers?
I haven’t ever commented on those alleged comments so you must be confusing me with someone else. Take it back.
I have also known people with dementia. My father died of it and I owned a care home that specialised in the care of people with dementia for 25 years. Biden may have it in a very early stage but he may not and you can’t say either way. I, like you am basing my opinion on a combination of experience and what I see with my own eyes.
If Biden has dementia and Trump is unable to destroy him in debate it doesn’t say much for Trump. Pathetic performance in that case.

In answer to the direct question “What did you pay in federal income tax in 2016 and 2017?”, Trump answered “millions of dollars”. So who is lying. Him or the NYT?
He then pointed out that before becoming president he was “a private business people”.
And his fans question Biden’s intelligence. Pot. Kettle. Black.

You did not bother to read the actual tax account, he payed 4 million in 2017, which was deferred due to tax breaks.

No, you're right, fair play. I apologise.
I thought I remembered you from that thread but the reason why I remembered your post is because you said something sensible;

Perception is vital though."
Sorry Joe.
Thank you mate.
We can agree to disagree but be civil about it.
To be honest, I can see that people may think I am a Biden supporter from this thread but I really am not supporting either side. I find politics very interesting but not from a partisan perspective. Trump is fascinating because normal rules don’t apply to him. He’s broken the mould in that respect. I still think he’s made a tactical mistake by targeting Biden as ‘sleepy Joe’ but that’s my perspective. I don’t understand people who support a party for their entire lives and won’t change whatever the policies. It’s not a football team, vote for whoever you consider the best party overall. I wouldn’t expect to agree with every policy from any party. I have voted for Thatcher and Blair in my lifetime. You probably won’t get many people who will admit to that but plenty did. I just thought they were the best candidates at the time for me, my family and the country.

It's the second election in a row where the Dems could have picked almost anyone else and had a better chance of winning.
Trump's key voters aren't going to abandon him. If anything they'll double down. I suspect a lot of swing voters will shift Biden's way, but probably not enthusiastically. Getting people out to vote for him rather than sitting it out will be key for him, and that's the message I'm seeing a lot on the Twitters and such.
I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a narrowish win in both the EC and PV for Biden, with Trump having to be pried out of the White House with a crowbar before a long custodial sentence and possibly suicide.

That’s the issue with universal mail in voting.
Usually I think Trump may have won by a landslide. However the fact those that wouldn’t have usually bothered to turn up and vote as Biden doesn’t enthuse anyone, will have a ballot delivered in their mailbox whether they asked for one or not.
I think this universal mail in system is a huge chance of winning it for the Democrats. Especially when you add in the high chance of voter fraud and vote harvesting from them which is being seen and documented as we speak.
I saw someone on Twitter today post a photo of 6 ballots, saying he lives alone, he got one for him, and 5 for people that no longer live there.

The trouble with that Killy is that the Proud Boys aren’t a ‘White’ organisation; and if you lump them together with Patriot Prayer, which the US media increasingly do, then it’s doubtful the combined membership is even majority white.
Correct. Horrible group, misogynistic and often violently pro America. But they are a multi national group, calling them white supremacist is utterly stupid and race baiting yet again to serve a false narrative.
Trump has condemned white supremacy multiple times. The only reason he is being asked is to falsely link them to his presidency, it’s a sham of a question. The fact he was asked it by a moderator in an impartial debate is lunacy. Then the “very fine people” hoax also formed another question. It was embarrassing.

Your correct, the way Trump is dismantling the postal service and closing polling stations in Democratic areas.
No he isn’t. That’s a lie.
He is rightly refusing to provide the USPS with extra government funding to conduct universal mail in voting, a system open to corruption. A Democrat suggestion.

That would seem to be the case. Biden was the 'safe' choice not the best. The polls, national and by state have been pretty static. Trump had been gaining but both the 'suckers' and now the 'tax avoidance' have impacted on the middle ground. The DNC have been prepared this time and Trump seems to miss Bannon's direction/dirty tricks. Ultimately the election is decided by about 20% of voters in around 12 states.
There may be more revelations to come. Hearing a lot about money laundering, but we shall see.
You aren’t “hearing a lot about money laundering”, you are seeing some idiots online in their blogs putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 932,290. But anything anti Trump you fall for hook line and sinker and get all giddy.
You are the posting embodiment of a CNN watcher, complete with race baiting and headline reading. I am amazed you didn’t address your point that the misleading headline of “3.5m black votes suppressed” was a prime example of black oppression. You clearly had not understood anything past the misleading headline and backed away from it pretty quickly after I pointed out.

The majority of democrats are nowhere near left wing. Biden, Clinton, even Obama would be considered at least centre right or even quite far to the right of the Tory party if they were British politicians. They are pandering to the woke idiots and antifa and playing on this race narrative because they think it’s a demographic they can pick up votes from but they share nothing with the left really. The moment those votes are in the bag they won’t give a flying monkeys arse about these issues, until 2024 of course.
Oh I agree 100%.
Whether he is truly left wing or intentionally acted left wing doesn’t make a great deal of difference to me though. Those questions wouldn’t have been worded more left wing if they had been written by Kamala Harris herself, dishonest and bias ridden, utterly shocking. Left wing shill well be more accurate.
Joining in mocking Trump with Biden was deplorable for a moderator of a debate of such magnitude. He should have been impartial but it was abundantly clear he wasn’t and don’t think many people are making a case that he wasn’t. That goes for either side.

You say outlier, I say moderate.
He is an outlier at Fox, it’s not just my words.
This is from the New York Times earlier in the year:-
“It is Mr. Wallace’s dual role as insider and outlier at Fox News that has made him an object of media fascination in the Trump era.”
“The “Fox News Sunday” anchor opens up about his childhood, career and what he makes of his pro-Trump colleagues.”
“Chris Wallace is a registered Democrat who hosts “Fox News Sunday,” a child of two Jews who keeps a rosary by his bedside, a Washington wonk who has vacationed in Italy with George Clooney.”
