Social distancing in football 23:07 - Jun 20 with 3394 viewsMrSwerve

From watching the games earlier and watching MOTD now...elbow bumps, fists bumps instead of handshakes...and then massive huddles, group hugs when a goal is scored, people putting their arms around opposing players when a foul happens, plenty of scuffles...bit daft innit?

At least all of the backroom staff and subs had face masks on in the Premier league games.

Didn't see one face mask at the Riverside this afternoon 😕

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Thinking exactly the same, absolutely pointless. Made me wonder about the possibility of allowing fans in though, cause this ain't going away any time soon. Surely you could allow 10 to 20% of a stadium's capacity in without risking too much.

Which 10-20% would be allowed in though? It would cause a right fuss amongst season ticket holders alone.

We could probably fit all our season ticket holders in, with social distancing in place. Wouldn't be far off anyway.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Especially when you factor in John the Clogs "allocation" for his famous Dutch Jacks travel club 🤣

That’s going to cause a riot. JA points would be fairer IMO.

Sorry, my head was in the shed there. Feels like we’re starting a new season now and I somehow processed it as a few months time still being this season.

Yes, I agree, if we are allowed to open limited capacity next season, priority should be for those who have already renewed.

What I don’t understand is all of these players have been tested, and tested negative in order to play. So why do they need to social distance at all?

I think the Leeds defence was social distancing today! Especially for the second goal!
