| News Comment | Southampton At Bournemouth The Verdict at 13:29:01
The best part of the match was by far the supporters... we got behind the team as always and we're loud... thats always great, no matter how we really feel. My own view and tbh, it's no different to what's been said already... SR and RM are both to blame. SR only vision is to make money, they are not interested in the club or what we, the fans, think or feel. Cheap managers, players that are just there for 'sell on value' etc etc shows what they are really interested in. As for RM, while I do feel sorry for the guy, he has also bought it all on himself! Won't change tatics, refuses to play players due to their abilities but instead goes on 'friendship' values, plus his subs are simply all over the place. He looks like a desperate man, out of answers to questions he wasn't prepared for (I wonder if when SR gave him the job, they actually expected us to go back up?) Bottom line is he needs to go and so do SR, neither are in it for the football or the fans.. the longer it is left, the quicker we will be back in the CH |
| News Comment | Southampton V Middlesbrough The Verdict at 11:27:39
I'm not sure why all the hate for RM recently! Sure, he has made a few 'iffy' decisions around subs and game plans but there was no doubting him a few weeks ago. To be honest, if CA was to do his job, the decisions by RM wouldn't be questioned. Same goes for Sports R, I'm not a fan of SR, to be honest, I can't stand them but there was no SR THIS or SR that, when we were winning. Truth is, no matter how good the game plan or how good the decisions by SR is, if the players don't turn up (and it is always the same ones), we will lose. |

That was one of the best games saints have played all season and by far the best home performance. Individual errors again but let's face it, that's never going to change unless you change the players. JWP had a blinder and TW showed why he deserves to start every game, sure he may not be the youngest but his speed showed he is still a top player, if given the chance. Let's hope that this is the fire they needed, if we can put 2+1p past a top club, then lower ones should be easier, unfortunately though, saints are certainly not consistent and that's what could lead to their downfall... fingers crossed, we are still in this.. COYR |

What a total pile of crap that was. I'd prefer Jones to be manager at the moment... he has as much of a clue as Selles but atleast with Jones you know he would add something to the post match chats to make you giggle. Anyway, Ralph should have gone the SECOND sports republic took over, Jones and Selles should have NEVER been hired resulting in a £10m pay off for 2months work (not even sure you can call it work). The recruitment strategy has been TERRIBLE with players recruited and yet, no one is calling out SR? WHY? It is OBVIOUS they don't give a toss about OUR club and don't give a toss about any of us. We are being relegated straight after they take over. As for the game, I left after the 1st goal. Why stay? We can't score to save our lives, played back more than forward and the few times we did put the ball in the box, Che was chasing a Haggis van instead of trying to score a goal. Dialling was as expected, TERRIBLE, JWP showed yet again that despite being a nice nipper, he can't lead a p1ss up in a brewery, let alone a footie team and Selles showed he has learnt well from Ralph. I'll quite happily do the managers job for £2k a week and I guarantee I'll get the same results. Give me £5k a week and I'll be manager and get a starting 11 from local Sunday league, they would score atleast the same amount as the premaradonas score, be PROUD to wear the shirt and put in a decent shift. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Leeds United The Preview at 19:39:46
For the 1st time in a year, I'm actually looking forward to the match tomorrow... looking forward to no more constant bitching on the coach, no more bitching at the grounds and less negativity than there has been for months. I'm optimistic over Selles... farm more than RH and don't get me started on NJ (£8m for doing feck all, ur having a laugh) Don't agree with Salisu (salad fingers), personally I think he is useless but that may have just been the managers? ELO, the sane really.... Let's see what tomorrow bring coyr |
| News Comment | Jesse Marsch Is Not Nathan Jones Mk 2. at 17:00:35
Nothing like Jones... this guy has been sacked twice in the PL and Jones only once... What a sad sad state we are in. Its not the managers faults, it's the owners, happy everyone wanted Gao out now? |
| News Comment | Southampton Sack Nathan Jones at 11:16:36
He was so Baaaaaaaaad! Sorry couldn't help myself... Join the PL and get £6m for a months work (taking ourlt the WC). Lets see which muppett SR put in next. |
| News Comment | Southampton Fans Have To Turn Toxic Situation Into A Positive For Wolves Game at 12:53:05
I actually feel sorry for Jones... HEAR ME OUT!! He is in a position he should have NEVER been offered. Maybe, if we were not in the position we are now, it would be worth a shot but that's is 100% of the board. From Jones View, what did he have to lose? If he did the job, he would become a regular manager in the PL (not an easy feat) if he fails, he's made £6m for doing nothing more than taking a gamble. I can not think of a single person who wouldnt have done what NJ did amd anyone who says they would are full of BS. Whilst i agree that we need to support during, it is very difficult when we are paying thousands, for the players, managers ans owners to make MILLIONS. The managers won't care, not with a £6m pay off on the horizon.. the players won't stay if we get relegated, despite its 90% THEIR FAULT, and the board know we will STILL support the club through tickets and merch. Jones needs to go but so does the board and 50% of the over hyped players |
| News Comment | Southampton V Aston Villa The Preview at 14:13:37
We won against a team who is not interested in the cup and focusing on being PL champs, although BLIND LUCK. Whilst I know luck plays a big part of winning games, this isn't enough to combat crud players ans an even worse manager. I maybe wrong and they may have turned a corner (I really hope so) but I just can't see it... all I see is same old crud, led by an even worse manager than HH.. lets see what tomorrow brings... beers and chanting or beers down the pub at half time |
| News Comment | Southampton At Crystal Palace The FA Cup Verdict at 23:20:02
Happy with the result, even though it was by blind luck and gifted to us. 1 cup win doesn't get us up the table, hide the cr@p management skills or show the team give a t0ss. We will get hammered against city, heads will drop further ans the board still won't admit they made a mistake... Championship looms |
| News Comment | Southampton V Nottingham Forest The Verdict at 13:14:54
Agree with all of it APART from the nonsense of the team showing effort. It appears that Nick isn't still over his best pal Ralph being sacked just yet, as under Ralph, it was ALWAYS the players faults and never Ralph's, now (same players) but always the new managers. Ralph should have gone a year ago New manager should never have been employed 90% of our players are Championship at BEST Great combo for championship football next season. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Brighton The Verdict at 21:09:37
Landsdownsaint... we are still in this position BECAUSE of the last few seasons and RH has been leading the group during that time. Loosing Ings was def bad but even worse was not replacing him. What's also worse is replacing players with 2nd rate championship players and expecting PL quality. Same goes for the new manager. I'm pretty sure RH had his say on that as well... cant imagine any manager not having any say on transfers. I'm still glad RH has gone... just not happy we replaced him with someone who is OBVIOUSLY worse, and that, unfortunately, is what 90% of us supporters said when the news leaked. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Brighton The Verdict at 15:24:53
Well... firstly, we are in this position because of SR and RH, not because of 1 game by the new guy. I'm still trying to figure out the gaffers appointment! He has less of a clue than Ralph and that's saying something. The only positive from yesterday is that the result was the sane as it would have been under Ralph. With the window opening soon, we need to invest and make BIG changes, otherwise the only change being made will be from the PL to Championship |
| News Comment | Southampton Sack Ralph Hasenhuttl at 11:29:34
Hmm OK it's the supporters fault (mine)... yep I put the 2 teams out that lost 9nil... it was me that made the tactical decisions and dodgy subs... it was also me that went on tv and berated players last season... Come on Nick... get real.... yes Ralph was a nice, decent bloke. What he did OFF the pitch was amazing and if he had those same results on the pitch, he would still have a job. He wasn't tactically savvy, blamed everyone apart from himself and simply ran out of ideas/plans in the second half and/or final 3rd. It's right that he has gone, he should have gone last season, so in all fairness, I could blame fans like yourself if we get relegated this season, after all, your one that wanted to keep him here despite the results and league position. Although, just maybe, you would have changed your mind in Feb, when bottom 2, maybe a few more drubbing and the occasional 1 win every 8 games..... I doubt it though |
| News Comment | Southampton At Manchester City The Verdict at 14:32:34
As a lifelong supporter and ticket holder for 20+ years... I TOTALLY disagree with this dribble... its sounding more like Putins Russia or a 80s horror flick where you have to say 'one of us, one of us'... to say you would rather not have supporters there who don't agree, is just nonsense. For 1, 99.9% of fans do not mock, they are sick and tired of Ralph and people like you who think the sun shines out of his arse, despite stats and logic. They want him out and are making it known. 2) Again, it's not the team or owners being booed, it's Ralph for the reasons stated above. 3) I would rather be a fan, a true fan, one that wants our team to succeed and grow, instead of a paper fan that just turns up, accepts mediocrity and blasts others. As for the game.. we knew we would lose, we did lose... that doesn't change the fact we are not playing for Ralph, that the players don't want to play for Ralph and even if they did, by the time he finishes playing strikers as defenders, and midfielders all over the place, it wouldn't make a difference anyway. Ralph out |
| News Comment | Hasenhuttl Rumours Rife As Odds To Be Sacked Shorten ! at 17:29:20
He should have gone TWO seasons ago amd as for "young squad and not expecting consistency" what a load of crap... Ralph bought these players in, neglected to get a decent striker. If he, for one minute expected no consistency, then he deserves the sack even more. We play like a Sunday league side, score like an 11yr old side and have a manager that's couldn't even manage both of the formentioned. Look at his record... how many 9nils, how many drubbing, what's his win %? |
| News Comment | Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict at 10:08:19
ANOTHER game where we did nothing, showed nothing and came away with nothing. Most teams have a blip when they lose, our blips are the ones we win. To all of those who shout Ralph praises, refusing to acknowledge how USELESS he is, your finally getting what you want, ANOTHER relegation battle, one that will end up with us losing and playing Pompey next season. |
| News Comment | Watt View - A mixed bag but turnaround is a starting point at 08:51:37
Lmao it was a DRAW.... so still no wins We may have "held our own" in the 1st half but we're simply undone by 2 goals in the 2nd. We (they) didn't switch off, we were out classed by Leeds players. Salisu should be sent out to pasture. He is useless. I'm sorry, but this is STILL the same crap after numerous years. It's NOT a step in the right direction... that would have been getting some experienced players. This was simply the same as last season when we had looses and then a draw cried shouts of "we told u so" from the Ralph lovers. If the so called "real supporters" think Ralph is amazing after stats, hammerings, 14/15 games with no wins, then please, go support Pompey... I can handle laughing at them, instead of Saints being the joke of the PL. And yeah, I've been a supporter for 30+ years, held season tickets for over 20 of then and also my kids have season tickets, so please don't give me that "your not a true supporter" nonsense. A true supporter wants improvement and goals, not mediocrity, complacency or a manager that couldn't manage to open a tea bag box |
