My new favorite part of any report: You thought the Steve Cook bicycle kick was ridiculous. Had this gone in, I’d still be there now. Running up and down the roof of the executive boxes, nude, exposing an erection the could see from the International Space Station. “What a spectacular erection” they’d say to each other, those astronauts. And they’d be right. And it would all be fully justified. As I’d very much enjoy explaining to His Majesty’s Constabulary, the Metropolitan Police Service’s fine upstanding custody sergeant back at the station, and at great length and expense in a later court hearing. Worth every penny. |

No Sinclair on the ratings or subs, i am positive he was there..... Should have scored but took his chance ok i thought, head down and hit it. I much prefer that from him than trying a pass or anything too cute. |

Generally spoke well. I am not sure we would have signed better players with a different DOF. The one thing we are missing is a goalscoring striker. We took a risk signing both Bonne and Dykes and neither of them has really worked. Sinclair we are trying to bring through, he's physical and fast but lacks touch. Add a striker to this team and we are top 10. Can we afford to add a striker, probably not. |

Such a good write up and exactly how a lot of us feel at the moment. The decisions in January haven't been good ones. We had a core group of players that were playing well and two systems both based on 5-3-2 doing well. I haven't seen the two striker up-top away for a long time that was working so well. True, with Dykes injured and Austin so lacking at the moment we probably dont have a striker to partner with Gray - but still. I hate to say it but i can't see us finishing top 10 atm, which is a real shame. We should stick to our players only from now on. For me that includes playing Dykes instead of Gray when he is fit. Gray can come in away for the 5-3-2. |

I think we have to expect that Austin and Johansen are unlikely to stay. If we keep one i'd be happy with that! Field and De Wijs i expect to keep. With the 5-3-2 we really need our wingbacks to be midfielders when we have the ball and defenders when we do not. Kane and Wallace aren't the best quality but they both have a willingness to run and appear to have decent engines. Better players in these positions would transform QPR into a truly dangerous team. Then we just need to try oh try to replace one of the best midfielders we've had in years and probably one of the best natural strikers we've ever had. |

I didn't expect to love Shaun Derry and I did. I certainly didn't expect to love Dom Ball and I do! There are better players but then there are better teams too. Ball is perfect for us right now. |

I really see no point picking Hemed. It hasn't worked out, sometimes it just doesn't. Let's play our own players and give someone a go. In ten games the loan players will be gone anyway. |
| News Comment | Blades pip QPR in snooze-a-thon — Report at 00:48:26
Surely with where we are in the league we have to look at another club for Smith. I thought we was very useful last year under Holloway but in this system he adds little value. He is 29 and can still score goals at the right level in the right system. Looking for a new option for free is the best thing for him and for the club - reducing the wage bill and giving more options to the youth recruits. We have Hemed back from injury soon anyway. |

Great post 062259! Also totally agree with GloryHunter. We don't need to be ready for the Prem, Cardiff weren't and they are fighting, good on them. Just take the money, fight like hell to stay up and accept that you only have a 20% chance of doing so.... |
| News Comment | Lumley rescues Reading point for tired Rangers - Report at 06:35:35
Bit of a shame we didn't go for it with a few fresh players. We all knew the team were tired, it would have been some effort to win four in a row with a knackered squad. Back a couple of young guns and get them to lift the energy levels of the whole squad! It's far harder to do that at Villa. Still, spot on with the verdict. A really enjoyable half, if we could just shift a few and offer Wells half the club to sign I'd be very happy indeed. Happy new year all! |

Surely with January just around the corner we could do with trimming the squad a little. We appear to have enough coverage and could easily cut some fat. I don't expect us to receive a lot in fees but surely loans out or sales of Goss and Sylla make sense. I'd also be interested in selling Ingram if we have a half decent prospect in our under 23's. We have a number one keeper now and Ingram isn't going to be happy on the bench forever. |

I think January has the potential to be interesting. If we continue to stay around the top half the management will keep the team together and try to push for playoffs. If we are lower than that bids for Freeman and Luongo might look appealing. I think if both are playing well and can attract 7-8M between them then sales look good in my view. Keep the rest of the core together, bring back Manning and play more OBS. Of the sale money we could bring in one more left sided winger. |
| News Comment | Right system, right players, right result - Report at 23:14:14
Whilst i would feel bad for Hemed not starting we have to play the system the benefits QPR players, not loan players! If we play a system that suits our players and they play well they will appreciate in value and we can sell them (hopefully after winning some points!). If we play a system that benefits our loan players they end up leaving and we are nowhere. Hemed as an impact sub for a bit i reckon. If he hates that he can go back in January, i'd prefer that and remain with the 4-2-3-1 trying to get the most out of Eze and playing Freeman on the left and Wszolek on the right. I'd also go with Scowen over Cameron until Manning comes back in January (please bring him back in January).... |
| News Comment | Changing tack? — Preview at 04:29:41
We need to bring through 2-3 young assets a season that can increase in value and be sold for a healthy profit. This season I see that as Furlong, Eze and Freeman. Next year it might be Manning, OBS and Smyth. The other squad should be trimmed for fat (i.e. Washington) and one or two experienced players brought in on loan. It all comes down to the overall wage bill and loan fees. Being sustainable and preying the club stays afloat until eventually a new stadium. That is the only way out. That or a lucky return via the playoffs. If that happens we should take the money and run (straight back down to the Championship). |
| News Comment | Hemed stops the rot with debut goal - Report at 22:21:11
Much needed result, a win was never going to be pretty. All the best to McClaren and the team but I wonder what Holloway and co could have done with a full summer and the backing to loan two Premier league strikers. |

Classic about West Ham, brilliant. I'd like to get one more year out of Smithies before he goes onto bigger and better things - with my blessing! |
| News Comment | Kids shine as Onuoha and Mackie bid farewell - Report at 06:58:13
Have to stick with Holloway for another season. We aren't going to be able to give any new manager serious money to work with and he has achieved his remit. A couple of draws turned into wins and we wouldn't be that far off pushing for a playoff place. Yes the away form has been awful, and yes that has to improve but his recruitment and blooding of the youngsters has been good! A lack of centre backs for the best part of half a season doesn't help your away form. If he could be a bit less Ollie at times we'd improve! Even though the formation and squad selection here worked well, often it is erratic. A more stable squad selection and a core formation and he'd do as well as anyone else could here! |
