| News Comment | Last Straight Claim For Lemina at 17:57:52
I do agree that in the main, Lemina is a selfish waste of space... but there is a part of me that wonders why we are selling to a PL rival. It would be very frustrating if he eventually started to use some of the talent he has. |

Shout out to Jan Bednarek. I’ve rarely seen anyone time tackles better. He’s a proper defender, tackles, heads it and uses the ball simply and quickly with a very low error count. |
| News Comment | Saints At Arsenal The Verdict at 15:35:24
We have won 2 home games in 14 months. We will need to win at least 3 of our next 6. I think that shows the task we are facing us now. |
| News Comment | Saints At Arsenal The Verdict at 11:03:00
For the first time (even last season) I think we are going to go down. We are so poor at the back and have no striking options... how we could do with Gabbiadini now. The squad lacks any game changers, goal scorers and quality. Look at our starting line up and bench from Sunday, where is the premier league quality? PEH, NR and RB..who was on the bench. |
| News Comment | Pelle Ban Might Give Saints Unexpected Impetus at 14:09:18
Im not sure how we come to the conclusion that the absence of our top scorer could help us. Particularly If we suggest that his replacement is Mane, at a league 1 club who will be particularly physical. To early to pass judgement on him, for sure he shows potential but is not the answer up front at this moment in time imo. |
| News Comment | Can Saints Put Out A Competitive Team Against Manchester United at 12:21:59
Perhaps our biggest problem in having a small squad, is that players like Mane, Tadic and Pelle to an extent are playing every game as we have no suitable replacement. Mane in particular looks particularly off form, Tadic looks fatigued and overall we lack the cutting edge and spark we had previously. Limited options off the bench make it even harder to compete with the top teams. Going to be a difficult month I fear. Will be there Monday to cheer us on regardless. |
| News Comment | Saints V Queens Park Rangers Player Assessments at 22:29:33
Fonte deserves so much credit for his improvement and adaptation since promotion. He really has gone from strength to strength, consistent, excellent on the ball and has rreally taken to the captaincy role. |
| News Comment | Saints V Newcastle United The Verdict at 11:53:02
Great proactive substitution, Long for Wanyama! Newcastle only looked dangerous when Sissoko powerfully broke through our midfield. In the second half he helped Schneiderlin, allowed him to move further forward and kept Newcastle's danger men playing in front of our midfield. Excellent! |
| News Comment | Potential Match Winners Abound For Saints at 09:48:45
Again I'm not sure why we can't mention Tadic et al in a positive light without making silly comments about previous players. I admire your positivity but it's disrespectful and ludicrous to believe Tadic is anywhere near 'overshadowing' Lallana after 3 games, despite his promise. Lallana was one of the top 6 players in the division last year, a huge achievement for a player from our club. Lets focus on the players we have now and stop comparing them to those that have left. |
| News Comment | The Squad Is Stronger But Is The Team ? at 14:34:08
Some good points but Nick at times almost embarassingly quick to knock Pochettino. It's beginning to sound like a woman down the pub telling all her friends how bad her boyfriend was, before returning home to cry herself to sleep. Why not forget about Poch, its all history now. We have made the 'squad' stronger but only time will tell if we will miss the likes of Lallana, Shaw, Lamber and Lovren. Looking forward to watching Mane play, looks a great prospect. |
| News Comment | Saints Do Good Business On Transfer Deadline Day at 11:17:23
Agreed, this in addition to his inflated wages should have been a reason to back our invesment... unless Hull paid his wages in full. Will be a shame if Gaston puts in some good performances, particularly for a team we will be competing with. |
| News Comment | Saints Do Good Business On Transfer Deadline Day at 10:10:33
Great business done, the only disappointment I have is the loan of Ramirez to a rival club in Hull. Believe we could still be short of goal scoring midfielders if Tadic or Mane pick up an injury. Gaston had looked a different player this year, and considering we are still reportedly paying the majority of his wages it would have made sense to keep him. That said there comes a time when a player needs to play and that is something that again could not be guaranteed for him. An ideal scenario would be Ramirez gets some good game time and really adapts to the PL before returning to us next season. Sadly I think the loan contains an option to buy at significantly lower value than the 12 million we paid Bologna. |
| News Comment | Blow For Saints As Clasie Signs New Deal At Feyenoord at 20:45:49
Ohh shock @bjwg was telling absolute porkies haha. What an absolute waste of time, neither player was a) actually at the pub b) ever going to sign for us. Let's. move on to realistic transfer targets. . |
| News Comment | Brek Shea Latest To Be Linked With St Mary's Move at 14:14:09
I disagree Nick, the board have chased unrealistic targets all summer, and now at the other end of the scale will entertain this? We are not in the position to take a punt on players, we need them to come in and perform straight away. |
| News Comment | Brek Shea Latest To Be Linked With St Mary's Move at 11:58:53
From Townsend England international, to a moderate MLS player with one PL appearance. With all the scouts and financial resources we have, a loan of a player of this calibre is up there with the Zigic to Arsenal rumours. Let's hope its not true. |
| News Comment | Could Ramirez Flourish Under Koeman at 11:51:28
I would argue he only has himself to blame for his lack of game time. Whilst I fully support the club in wishing to keep him, although our formation has been a contributing factor he has just not been good enough individually. Injuries have prevented him from a sustained run in the team, but also his decision making at this level is lacking. Too often he takes one touch to many, plays the wrong pass, tries to do too much or is inconsistent on a minute by minute basis. If we can install some discipline, play to his strengths as Nick mentions and keep him fit, I am hopeful we can start to see the best of him. |
