The tainted First Minister

To paraphrase Tacitus,

They rob, lie and plunder and deceivingly call it "Senedd rule", and where they make a desert, they call it Wales.

Having seen the story about Blythyin and Gething today, it seems like he has quite the imagination!

Swansea City finances
at 19:39 10 Jul 2024

The only way to really profit from sales is to unearth a real gem that a Premier league club wants. That's because of the massive debts of Championship clubs, the vast majority of whom cannot afford large transfer fees.

I wonder how many clubs are facing sanctins, if we were running close to breaking spending rules, there must be several who broke that threshold.

The thread isn't about brexit. You haven't posted here for ages and the lastbtime you did, was it about brexit then too? The record has been changed, the world has moved on. The new government is talking about forging a new deal with the EU.

Do keep up.

Challenging the paradigm of whiteness?

Critical whiteness studies? WTF?

And they want to create new historic narratives, maybe they could try just telling the truth. I know that's been a strange concept to politicians but tell the real history in all its gory nastiness, the real facts and then let people learn and hopefully understand.

They used to call it critical thinking!

Ospreys choose St Helen's as new stadium home ...

Speculating? No that first sentence is a statement.

You alone? The Oracle of the Neath valley eh? Well if you'd read the story you'd have seen this,
Ospreys say they will continue to play home games at the Swansea.com Stadium for the 24/25 season, and are grateful for the support and understanding they continue to receive from the management and staff of Swansea City.

And this was my whole point about the 20mph, it's fine as long as everybody obeys it but as long as there are scum like this person around they could reduce the limit to 5mph and it wouldn't matter.
They could increase the limit and this type of person would go even fatser again.

It's people that need changing, more so than speed limits.

Labour less popular now than under Corbyn?
at 19:41 9 Jul 2024

I can't call him a coward, the real cowards were those who resigned before the eletion, they saw a defeat coming and ran away.

Everyone saw a Labour win, there was no other possible outcome. Nobody else had the support, Libdems did well but still far behind, the greens, reform etc had no chance. Then in Scotland the SNP got mullered too, maybe because they turned out to be almost as corrupt as some tories, Hamza Yousaf helping their hammering along by making some very bad decisions.

What we need now is for Starmer to be the right man and I have my doubts, he's too soft for me, a wet lettuce though I sincerely hope he proves me wrong.
After winning the majority the size of the victory doesn't count for much, it's what he does with the power that counts.

That first sentence, would anyone describe it as libellous? After all it looks like a statement of fact. It would seem to me to be very stupid to make a claim like that unless there is evidence, have you any evidence?

How can there be a conflict of interest, the Osprey's are leaving the Swansea.com and the council are supporting their next move which sensible Swansea people see as a vey good move, specially the rugby fans. I have spoken with a rugby supporting mate and he is all for it, St Helens is home to him like the Vetch was to football fans, a regenerated St Helens is a blessing.

If the WRU try to disband the Osprey's now I think there will be a legal challenge. It could get messy.

Really...yes.

I think a donkey in a red rosette would have beaten Sunak, the tories have sunk so low, they are so bad, so corrupt that millions of their own supporters turned away.

Maybe somebody who can be bothered can look and see if any UK election has ever seen a party lose so many votes in 5 years.

And will we see again in our lifetime a party have such a resounding win while losing one million votes of their own?

This eletin was a comment on UK politics, the people are fed up of the BS and we want standards raised. Starmer has a massive job on.

I'm of the opinon that if you break the law while driving, so drink or drugs driving, speeding, driving dangerously and while doing so you kill anybody then it should be called murder.

This...person...should be locked up for a whole life tariff with no chance of release to send the message that this won't be tolerated.

And yet again I agree 100%

Not many people know of Mansa Musa who is/was apparently the richest man ever born and he had thousands of slaves, selling many thousands more to the European slave traders.

I don't notice the reparations mob demanding Mali pays reparations, I haven't noticed them going after Arab slavers either.

It's always the Uk they go after.

What we need and have needed ever since he said it and failed to live up to it is a government that is"tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime" instead of the wimpy, half assed mess they gave us which included the tories along the way, the changing of a force into a service and the cutting of police numbers to dangerously low levels.

We need to treat foreign criminals who try to come here as what they really are and not be namby pamby.

Ospreys
at 16:12 9 Jul 2024

But he's POTY mun, he knows everything....

This is obviously great news for the city and the ground will be a proper rugby stadium, a proper home that the Ospreys can afford to run and if properly managed can benefit and grow in.
The Neath Ospreys won't be happy with it but maybe more Swansea people will back the team again.
During the rebel season I used to leave the Vetch and walk to St Helens and the rugby was good, the crowds were good, often around 8000 so maybe that is why they chose that capacity and the hope they can improve it.
Then we can hope our football pitch will remain a better playing surface without rugby happening on it. I'm also pretty sure that for bigger games, where the O's can sell the tickets, they will be allowed to lease the Swansea.com if they want to.

We've done colonialism on here and it has been pointed out that the Dutch, Germans, Belgians and even other African countries are guilty of massive crimes during their occuation of ther countries.

It's usually come after some people attack the Uk for our colonialist past when others oint out the UK isn't the nly guilty country and thats the way the world was back then.

Then you have the reparations mob and people like Patrick Robinson who always want to blame the UK, the latter believeing the Uk should pay 18 trillion for the UK's role in slavery and I haven't heard their opinions on other countries involvement nor these people givingthe UK credit for our active role in stopping transatlantic slavery.

The Dutch, or shall we call them Afrikaners, well what they did has been stopped so I'm not sure why we should be talking about them when we bring up current events?

if we have another long "debate" about colonialism then yes, they deserve an outing.

Labour less popular now than under Corbyn?
at 18:13 7 Jul 2024

No one is denying the size of the victory, we are simply pointing out to you that Labour got fewer votes than under Corbyn , that the tories did more damage to themselves than Starmer did (which actually seemed to be his gameplan, let them destroy themselves while he sat and watched) and all the stats show that Labour are less popular today than at the last election.

The tories lost 6 million votes, it's a fact. The turnout was low, another fact.

Maybe in your mind stating facts means we support the tories but that is nowhere near the truth, only a few on here are tory supporters.

He coud try listening to a podcast about dictators, specifically the one about Hitler that explains very well the series of events that led to Hitlers rise.

The disastrous decision by Hindenburg, aided by Vin Papen that saw hitler become Chancellor was made i the belief they ould control him.

Hitler didnt take power, in the end it was given to him and once in office he acted swiftly and without mercy.

How many seasons have been sold?

The tv deal is certainly an issue that may have caused this cut.

I haven't renewed and the descent into being purely an armchair fan has been accelerated by this tv deal.
